About the Institution
Atal Medical and Research University, popularly known as AMRU and formerly known as Himachal Pradesh University of Health Sciences, is the first state university of Himachal Pradesh. The university is recognized by the UGC and was established in 2019. MyKollege ranked the university 456 in the medical category in the year 2025.
The university has 60 affiliated colleges and institutes and AMRU offers UG and PG courses in Medical, Dental, Ayurveda, Nursing, Paramedical and Pharmacy. AMRU offers B.Sc Nursing as its flagship program and the first year B.Sc Nursing fee is INR 19,000. The eligibility criteria are that the candidate must have qualified 10+2 from a recognized board.
The university also offers MBBS, BAMS, and B.Pharm as its other popular courses.
