Calcutta Institute of Technology, Kolkata was established in 2004, is one of the leading Institutes in the field of engineering. It is a private Institute with affiliation to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), and is approved by AICTE, New Delhi. The Institute offers B.Tech at the UG level, M.Tech, and M.C.A. at the PG level and Diploma in various disciplines of Engineering.

Admission to B.Tech is on the basis of valid scores in JEE Mains. Candidates who have applied for MCA are admitted by WBJECA conducted by the state and they shall be considered eligible only if they possess a graduation degree in the related field whereas admission to M.Tech is on the basis of PGET counselling conducted by WBUT. The institute has a dedicated placement cell.
