CEC Chengannur was established in the year 1993. It is located in Alappuzha, Kerala, India. CEC Chengannur was set up with the help of IHRD, affiliated to Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) and is approved by AICTE.
It is the second-best college under CUSAT. It Offers 4 undergraduate and 2 postgraduate courses. Admissions are based on a 50% merit basis, 35% for Management and 15% for NRI.
It is one of the five engineering colleges in Kerala which was chosen by India govt. for the Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP). The college is fully equipped with well furnished smart class rooms. The college also has laptops which are issued to the students to help them in their project work. Other facilities include Diesel Generator System to power the whole college, Power Backups, Water Purifier System, Camera surveillance etc. There is also a Co-operative store adjacent to the college office which provides students with stationery and general provisions.The college owned men’s hostel and ladies’ hostel can house over 100 inmates and provide a nourishing environment.
The College Library has a wide collection of latest books, periodicals, and CDs.
College of Engineering, Chengannur is one of the 18 engineering colleges equipped with Mini Fablab.
