<h2>Campus Location</h2>
<p>IIIT Hyderabad is located on a 66-acre campus on Gachibowli road, also known as Old Bombay Highway. The campus is centrally located and well connected by all means of transport.</p>
<p>The institute is surrounded by several academic and research institutions. These include Hyderabad Central University, Indian School of Business (ISB), TCS-CMC, Indian Immunologicals and Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Development Banking (JNIDB). The campus is minutes away from HiTech City Center and Lingampally.</p>

<h2>On-Campus Facilities</h2>
<p>On-campus facilities include a State Bank of India branch, an ATM machine, a stationary shop and canteens. The campus has 24-hour security at the hostels, main gate and all academic and administrative buildings.</p>
<p>There is only one entry and exit point, so safety and security are never compromised. Evenings on campus are a pleasant sight with well-lit streets and common areas surrounded by mature trees and lush greenery.</p>

<h2>Computer Laboratories</h2>
<p>The institute has well-equipped, air-conditioned computer laboratories with the latest hardware and software allocated to students batch-wise. The average PC-to-student ratio is 1:2.</p>
<p>All computers are part of an intranet with a 1Gbps backbone, which connects all buildings including the hostels round the clock. Researchers have 24-hour access to the computational facilities. Students administer their own computer systems. Research centers provide specialized, high-end equipment as needed in research and development projects.</p>

<h2>Student Workspaces and Teaching Labs</h2>
<p>New workspaces have been set up for students where they can work in a quiet space. These spaces have been designed with modern facilities such as ergonomic chairs and desks, discussion rooms and white boards. They can accommodate up to 200 students at any given time.</p>
<p>There are two new Teaching Labs equipped with state-of-the-art teaching aids including projectors, TV screens and theatre-style seating. Each lab can accommodate up to 100 students at any given time.</p>

<h2>High-Performance Computing (HPC) Service</h2>
<p>The institute has a High-Performance Computing (HPC) service to deliver sustainable and reliable computing resources for its research community. This service provides campus researchers with cutting-edge computing infrastructure.</p>
<p>Researchers use this infrastructure to address scientific, application and engineering problems. It helps solve challenges in Computer Vision, Machine/Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing and Bioinformatics. It also helps investigate chemical and biological processes such as protein folding.</p>

<h2>Ada HPC Cluster</h2>
<p>The HPC cluster facility is named "Ada" after Ada Lovelace, the first ever computer programmer. The cluster consists of 92 nodes.</p>

<h2>Abacus HPC Cluster</h2>
<p>Abacus is the first HPC cluster facility of IIIT Hyderabad. It has a total of 59 HP SL230s compute nodes.</p>

<li>48 to 96 GB RAM per node</li>
<li>2 TB scratch disk per node</li>
</ul>
<p>The nodes are interconnected through Gigabit and 4X QDR Infiniband. The cluster provides about 14 TFLOPS of peak computing power.</p>
