-Allocation of seats is managed through a Centralised system and other means by independent regulators (for example: the Medical Counselling Committee [MCC] for NEET UG, and an independent regulatory body for AIIMS and INI-CET).
Fees: The fee structure for this National Institute of Higher Educational Development (NIHED) is highly subsidised. For instance, for six very low fee payments of only INR 6000-7000 for the entire MBBS programme.
Ques. What is required for someone to be eligible for the MBBS program?
Ans. Candidates who want to enrol in the MBBS program must successfully complete a 10+2 exam or equivalent with the core subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English. In addition, candidates must receive the minimum aggregate score (General: 50%, Reserves: 40%) on the 10+2 examination and pass the NEET-UG test. Candidates must be at least 17 years of age as of December 31 of the year they wish to enrol.
Ques. Is there an additional admissions exam for the B.Sc. Nursing Program offered by AIIMS Nagpur?
Ans. Yes, the B.Sc. (Hons) Nursing program is only offered through the AIIMS BSc Nursing Entrance Test, which is administered by AIIMS Delhi, and not through NEET. Additionally, this program typically only accepts female candidates.
Ques. What is an INI-CET, and what programs does it serve?
Ans. INI-CET is the Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test that encompasses all PG Medical Course admissions (e.g., MD, MS, MDS) at AIIMS, JIPMER, PGIMER, and NIMHANS. In order to qualify for the INI-CET examination, candidates should have either an MBBS or BDS degree with a completed one-year mandatory internship.

Ques. What was the most competitive PG course in the 2025 INI CET cutoff?
Ans. The most competitive course was MD Radiodiagnosis, with the lowest (best) Round 1 closing rank of 32 for the General Category.
Ques. Was the NEET MBBS cutoff rank (862) higher or lower than the previous year?
Ans. The NEET MBBS cutoff rank of 862 was slightly lower (a better rank was required) compared to the previous year (approx. 946 in 2024), indicating increased competition for the General Category seats.
Ques. Why is the closing rank for MD Pharmacology the same for Round 1 and Round 2 (1801)?
Ans. The same rank suggests that nearly all available seats were filled in Round 1, or that no eligible General Category candidates with a slightly lower rank chose or were allocated the course in Round 2.
