DOMS IIT Kanpur offers admission to the MBA as its flagship program. The specialization, eligibility, and selection criteria for this course is mentioned below:

In the final stage of the MBA admission process, final selection will be based on the cumulative score of performance in CAT, Academic Performance, Work experience and the candidate’s performance in GD & PI process. The weightage given to different components for arriving at the final score is given.

Note: To promote gender diversity in the MBA batches, the department plans to continue with a gender diversity multiplier for the shortlisted female applicants. It is proposed that the composite scores of the female applicants be inflated by 15% (ie, multiplied by 1.15).

PGPEX-VLM is a unique one-year full-time residential program for executives, jointly offered by IIT Kanpur, IIM Calcutta, and IIT Madras under the guidance of MoE (Ministry of Education) and DPIIT (Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade). Students must have a first-class graduate or post-graduate degree in any discipline of engineering from leading engineering colleges or institutions & have a minimum 4½ (four and half) to maximum 10 (ten) years full-time post qualification work experience followed by Written test & Personal interview. GMAT score is optional but all candidates short‐listed on the basis of application Form will have to appear in the Written Test.The PGPEx-VLM admission procedure includes the following stages-

Ques: How will I know if I am selected for the MBA admission interview at IIT Kanpur MBA?

Ans: A certain number of candidates are called for the Group Discussion and Interview. Call letters are sent to the shortlisted candidates through email. This list will also be available on the department webpage. Offline interviews are likely to be held at Kanpur & Noida. Candidates will give their preference for location, but the venue of interview may be different from the top preference of the applicant.

Ans: Students should note that IIT- Kanpur employs a centralized standard format of certificate for reserved category students.
