Exam Mode

Yes. Both iDAT and iMAT are available in online (computer-based) and offline (pen-and-paper) modes for every phase. You choose your preferred mode at the time of registration.

For the online iDAT, written responses must be in English, and drawing tasks follow IIAD's digital submission instructions.

NATA Score Exemption

Yes. Students applying for Interior Architecture & Design at IIAD who hold a valid NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) score are exempt from the iDAT written test. They skip Part A and proceed directly to Portfolio Evaluation for admission consideration.

Important Dates for IIAD 2026

IIAD 2026 has four phases. Students can apply and appear in any phase they choose.

IIAD Entrance Exam 2026 Phase 4, covering both iDAT and iMAT, is scheduled for May 30, 2026. It is the final phase of the 2026 admission cycle. The Phase 4 admit card is available for download on the official IIAD website.

After the Written Test

Students who qualify the iMAT written test are shortlisted for a Personal Interview at IIAD's New Delhi campus. Your performance in both the written test and the interview together determines final admission to Fashion Business Management and Luxury Business Management programmes at IIAD.

IIAD Entrance Exam 2024 Result

The IIAD Entrance Exam 2024 Result will be announced shortly after the exam concludes. The result and the subsequent merit list will be published on the official website of the Indian Institute of Art and Design, New Delhi.

The result will display the scores a candidate obtained in their respective iMAT or iDAT exam.

• Design or Architecture candidates must appear for the iDAT Test and may have to undertake Studio Test Rounds for admission.
• After evaluating performance in the iDAT Test and Studio Test, the IIAD Merit list of selected candidates will be released on the official website.
• Fashion Design and Fashion Business Management candidates must appear for the IIAD Personal Interview Rounds for admission.
• After assessing performance in the iMAT/iDAT and Personal Interview Rounds, the IIAD Merit list will be released on the official website.
• Candidates must carry their creative portfolio to the personal interview. This can include drawings, sketches, needlework, paintings, graphic design, web design, sculpture, or photography.
• Along with the Merit List, the IIAD Scorecard 2024 for qualified candidates will also be released on the official website.

How to Check IIAD Entrance Exam 2024 Result

The IIAD Entrance Exam 2024 Result will be announced only online. Follow these steps to check the result:

1. Visit the official website of IIAD (www.iiad.edu.in).
2. Log in to the website with your user ID and password.
3. Click on the link that says "iDAT 2024 admission results".
4. Enter the details asked, such as your application number and date of birth.
5. Your IIAD entrance exam result will appear on your computer screen.
6. Save the result.
7. Take a printout of the result as it will be required during admission.

Selection of candidates will be based on their score in iDAT and their performance in the Studio Test or personal interview rounds.

IIAD Merit List 2024

The IIAD Entrance Exam 2024 Merit List will be published on the official website of IIAD after the results are announced. The merit list is prepared through a two-step evaluation process.

• Candidates must clear the written tests, iDAT or iMAT, and score above the cut-off marks.
• Candidates must perform well in the Studio Test or personal interview rounds.
• IIAD evaluates performance in both stages to prepare the merit list.
• Candidates whose names appear in the merit list are eligible for admission.

Personal Interview and Portfolio

The personal interview focuses on the confidence level and communication skills of candidates. Questions will be asked about art and design concepts.

Candidates must carry their creative portfolio to the personal interview. The portfolio can include drawings or sketches, needlework, paintings, graphic design, web design, sculpture, or photography.

Lateral Entry Admission

Candidates who have applied for Lateral entry do not have to give the written examination. Their admission is based only on their performance in the personal interview.

IIAD Merit Scholarship 2024

IIAD offers scholarships to meritorious candidates. The merit criteria for the IIAD Entrance Exam 2024 Merit Scholarship are listed below.

• At least 70% marks in Class 12
• Performance in iDAT
• Creative Portfolio review

IIAD Counselling 2024

Candidates whose names appear on the final IIAD Merit List 2024 are eligible for admission to the undergraduate design courses at IIAD. They must reach the IIAD campus on the day of orientation with their original documents.

The documents required on the day of orientation are:
