NERIST NEE 2024 Eligibility Criteria
NERIST NEE 2024 eligibility criteria are set by the official authorities for all three exams. The requirements differ for NEE-I, NEE-II, and NEE-III.
NERIST NEE-I Eligibility Criteria
For NEE-I, a candidate must have appeared or passed Class 10, Madhyamic, or Secondary examination with Science and Mathematics.
The maximum age limit is calculated as of July 31, 2024.
- General (GE): 19 years (born on or after August 1, 2005)
- OBC and female applicants: 22 years (born on or after August 1, 2002)
- SC/ST/PwD: 24 years (born on or after August 1, 2000)
NERIST NEE-II Eligibility Criteria
For NEE-II, a candidate must have appeared or passed Class XII, Higher Secondary, or Sr. Secondary with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Biology.
Candidates who have appeared or passed Class XII (Vocational), ITI, or NERIST certificate are also eligible.
The maximum age limit as of July 31, 2024 is:
- General (GE): 23 years (born on or after August 1, 2001)
- OBC and female applicants: 26 years (born on or after August 1, 1998)
- SC/ST/PwD: 28 years (born on or after August 1, 1996)
NERIST NEE-III Eligibility Criteria
For NEE-III, a candidate must have appeared or passed a 3-year Diploma from a recognized Government-accredited polytechnic institution.
The minimum qualifying marks are 60% aggregate in all three years or a CGPA of 6.5 on a 10-point scale.
The maximum age limit as of July 31, 2024 is:
- General (GE): 30 years (born on or after August 1, 1994)
- OBC and female applicants: 33 years (born on or after August 1, 1991)
- SC/ST/PwD: 35 years (born on or after August 1, 1989)
NERIST NEE 2024 Reservation Criteria
Reservation for NERIST NEE 2024 is divided into three categories.
- All India Quota: Available for Indian citizens from any State or Union Territory.
- State Quota: Applies to residents of North-Eastern states, including Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur, Sikkim, Nagaland, and Tripura.
- PD Quota: For candidates with 40% to 75% Physical Locomotor Disability (PD), from any State or Union Territory.
NERIST NEE 2024 Seat Reservation
Seats are divided among the different categories as follows:
- 80% of total seats are reserved for candidates from the 8 North-Eastern states, with 10% for each state.
- 7% of seats are reserved for Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC) holders of the North-Eastern states.
- 10% of total seats are reserved for candidates under All India Quota.
- 3% of total seats are reserved for Physically Disabled candidates under PD Quota.
Admission in the Technology and Forestry streams depends on the total seats available in these three reservation categories.
Documents must be produced at the time of verification as per the official requirements.
Documents Required at the Time of Counselling
Candidates must carry the following documents to the counselling session. The list applies to all applicants unless stated otherwise.
- Mark sheet and passing certificate of the qualifying examination (Class 10th/Class 12th/Diploma)
- SC/ST/OBC/PD certificate, if applicable. PD candidates must bring a medical certificate that mentions their locomotor disability.
- Permanent Resident Certificate, if the candidate applied under the state quota of the North-Eastern region
- Domicile certificate, if applicable
- Migration Certificate, if applicable
- Government employee certificate of parent/guardian, if applicable
- 3 passport size photographs
Note: Candidates applying under the General category need to carry only their academic qualification documents and passport-size photographs.
