Miranda House

<h2>Miranda House Hostel Overview</h2>
<p>Miranda House Hostel offers residential accommodation to students of Miranda House college. The hostel has housed several famous and distinguished alumnae during their formative years.</p>
<p>Miranda House was a residence before it became a college, which is how it got its name. The institution was established in 1948 by the then Vice-Chancellor, Sir Maurice Gwyer. Its foundation stone was laid by Lady Edwina Mountbatten on March 7 of the same year.</p>

<h2>Architecture and Heritage</h2>
<p>The red brick building was designed by the architect Walter George. It is laid out in an aesthetically designed quadrangle enclosing well-kept gardens, paced out by bottle palms.</p>
<p>The long corridors, the dining hall with a high arched ceiling, and the stonework balconies add to its charm. Over the last few years, extensive restoration and refurbishment work has been undertaken to preserve the heritage and restore the grandeur of its red brick facade and unique interiors.</p>

<h2>New Hostel Block</h2>
<p>A new hostel block has been added to the campus. It integrates well with the old Walter George construction, adding to its beauty with equal grace.</p>
<p>The residence is located within the college campus. It opens on Chhatra Marg.</p>

<h2>Hostel Administration</h2>
<p>The day-to-day functioning of the hostel is taken care of by the Hostel Warden and the Housekeeper. The hostel administrative team includes the following members:</p>
