Indian Law Institute, widely known as ILI Delhi, was established in 1956. The institute was inaugurated by the first president of India, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, in the presence of various government officials and other judges. The government of India granted the status of a deemed university to ILI in 2004. The institute, accredited by NAAC with an A grade, has one of the best libraries in the country and the National Legal Research Centre. NIRF has ranked the institute at 35 out of 39 in India for its law programs in 2024. Furthermore, the institute is also ranked 29th out of 40 in India by the IIRF Rankings 2024.
