Indian Institute of Technology Palakkad, commonly known as IIT Palakkad or IIT PKD, is a public autonomous engineering and research institute located in Palakkad, Kerala. Established in 2015, it provides a serene and inspiring environment for education amidst the scenic surroundings of Palakkad. The institute has two campuses: Nila and Sahyadri. Nila includes labs, classrooms, and hostels, while Sahyadri is a 504-acre permanent campus in Kanjikode with advanced laboratories, studios, and a digital library. IIT Palakkad offers AICTE-approved programs and is currently operating from both temporary campuses. In the 2024 NIRF rankings, it is placed 64 among engineering institutes. IIT Palakkad offers various programs, including BTech, MTech, MSc, MS, and PhD, with MTech being the flagship program of the institute.

IIT Palakkad admissions to the BTech program are based on the JEE Advanced cutoff, followed by the JoSAA counseling process. Candidates must have completed their 10+2 education with PCM and must secure a position in the top 20 percentile (category-wise) of their respective board examinations to be eligible for admission. Candidates whose names appear on this list must participate in the 7 rounds of JoSAA counseling. For admission, the overall cutoff rank for JEE Advanced is set at 5736-14852 for the General Category. The M.Tech program at IIT Palakkad requires applicants to hold a B.Tech or B.E. degree from any recognized institute or university. Previously, the highest and average salary packages for IIT Palakkad's BTech placements in 2024 were INR 41.6 LPA and INR 15.88 LPA, respectively. The NIRF report for IIT Palakkad in 2024 indicates that the median packages for UG 4-year and PG 2-year placements in 2023 were INR 14.1 LPA and INR 9.5 LPA, respectively.
