About the Institution
NIEPMD also known as National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disabilities Chennai, was established in 2005. It is affiliated with the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R.
Medical University for certain courses, and Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University for others and approved by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). The college is accredited by the NAAC with a B Grade. NIEPMD offers undergraduate, postgraduate and Diploma programs, which lead to one primary degree: Bachelor in Audiology and Speech Language Pathology, BASLP.
For admission to the BASLP program candidates must have passed 10+2 in Physics, Chemistry and any one of Biology / Mathematics / Computer Science / Statistics / Electronics / Psychology with an aggregate of 50% marks and need to appear for CET (Tamil Nadu Central Entrance Test). The total fee for the BASLP program is between INR 1.43 to 1.62 Lakhs. NIEPMD placement report for 2025 has not been officially released.
