National Institute of Speech and Hearing (NISH) is an autonomous institution located in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, working relentlessly for the education and rehabilitation of individuals suffering from speech-language and hearing impairments. It is a self financed institution which is established in 1997 by the Kerala State Social Welfare Department. It is affiliated to the University of Kerala. It has accreditation from the Rehabilitation Council of India as an Excellent Institution and by NAAC with A Grade. National Institute of Speech and Hearing offers 7 courses in 5 streams. Bachelor’s degree is offered in Fine Arts, Audiology and Speech Language Pathology, Commerce, Computer Science. Two undergraduate Diploma degrees are also offered in Indian Sign Language and Early Childhood Special Education (Deaf).
