The Department of Economics offers Undergraduate, Post Graduate and Research Programmes. Right from its inception in 1946, the Department of Economics always focused on holistic education. Over the years, this Department has nurtured and transformed the students and always helped in goal-setting. The course content has been framed keeping in mind the aspirations of student community and expectations from job market. Mathematics, Statistics and Econometrics are taught at graduate and post graduate level along with the core subjects. This Department is also actively involved in research – where more than 35 candidates have been conferred with PhD Degree. The members of the Staff are also actively involved in Research Projects.

The Department of Economics has visualised the challenges in education and thus moulded its course content to keep students to keep in momentum with the changing times. Blended Approach, Webinars and Workshops, besides the lecture hours, are conducted to keep students well-informed and updated. This would help student community to face the competitive world with confidence. At all times, this Department sticks to the ideals of the College of ‘man making and character building education’.
