The Central Library of Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management is a vital academic hub that supports the institution's mission of excellence in education, research, and innovation. As one of the finest technical libraries in the region, it serves as the intellectual heart of the campus, providing a well-structured and resource-rich environment for learning and discovery. The library spans 1,050 square meters and can accommodate over 400 users at a time. It is equipped with Wi-Fi connectivity and a CCTV surveillance system to ensure a secure and conducive atmosphere for study and research. To streamline access and resource management, the library is fully automated using the Libsys Library Management Software. It operates on a barcode-based system for efficient circulation and inventory control. Users benefit from a web-enabled Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) available campus-wide, allowing easy search and real-time tracking of resources. The systematic arrangement of books and learning materials is done using the Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) system, which ensures organized and easy-to-navigate access to resources across various subjects. The library’s collection includes over 45,000 volumes, 8,000+ titles, 90+ printed technical journals, and access to 13,000+ e-journals and e-books. With over 3,500 active users comprising students, faculty, alumni, and visitors, the library plays a crucial role in academic life. In addition to the Central Library, departmental libraries cater to specialized academic needs. The institution’s library is also a member of prestigious academic networks such as the VTU Consortium, DELNET, and the National Digital Library of India (NDLI) Club, offering extended access to a wealth of scholarly resources.
