Department Of Biotechnology-NERBPMC Program 2014 INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR THE UNITS OF EXCELLENCE IN BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES AT INSTITUTES OF HIGHER G IN NORTH EAST REGION (U-EXCEL IN NER) FOR THE YEAR 2014-15 The Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science & technology, Govt, of India, invites applications from mid-career scientists upto 45 years) engaged in the research areas of biological sciences including biotechnology with regular employment in institutions, universities, colleges in the eight states of North Eastern Region [Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura and Sikkim] of India for award of “Unit of Excellence” in their respective area of expertise. This is an attractive, career-oriented scheme to identify and nurture outstanding mid-career scientists with excellent track record in research, who possess innovative ideas and are desirous )f pursuing research in frontier areas of biological sciences. The award consists of financial support upto Rs. 150.00 Lakhs per Unit for a period of 5 years for execution of cutting edge research as proposed by the awardees. The award is not transferable outside North Eastern Region( NER) of India.
