It has recently added several state of the art facilities for its bioinformatics and biotechnology laboratories to enhance its training and research capabilities. IBAB will shortly be hosting a Bio-IT center, a multi institutional public private partnership effort under the aegis of Department of Information Technology, Government of India, and Department of IT.BT and ST, Government of Karnataka, for setting up cutting edge platforms for genome sequencing and data analysis. The institute has also initiated its Ph.D. program affiliated to Manipal University. IBAB has world class faculty trained from top-notch institutions with significant teaching and research experience.
