About this Scholarship

National Talent Promotion Scheme 2006 National Talent Promotion Scheme Website:http://www.ncert.nic.in/ National Talent Promotion Scheme 2006 National Council Of Educational Research And Training (NCERT) is going to award 100 Scholarships under the scheme titled ” National Talent Promotion Scheme For School Dropouts.” Under this Scheme there is a provision of Scholarship for Scheduled Castes (15%) and for Scheduled Tribes (7.5%) each year. Award includes financial assistance in the form of both monthly Scholarship and annual book grant. The awardees will receive the Scholarships throughout their academic career upto Ph.D level for pursuing their education in basic sciences and social sciences including commerce. Those who Presently the scheme will be implemented for a period of one year on trial basis. Selection for Scholarship has two stages. At first stage, selection is done by individual states / UTs through a written Examination. Those candidates who qualify at the first level examinations, are only eligible to appear for the second level examination conducted by NCERT. At this stage there will also be an interview. The details of Examination are given below. Date Of Examinations: State Level: Mizoram, Meghalaya, Manipur and Nagaland – 26th November, 2005 (Saturday) All Other States and UTs – 27th November, 2005 (Sunday) National Level: All States and UTs – 14th May, 2006 (Sunday) Only those students who have passed class VII/VIII at least three / two years prior to appearing in this NTPS examination are eligible to appear in the state level examination from the state in which candidates intend to register for appearing in class X examination as per conditions given below. ** The student could not continue their studies as a regular student after completion of elementary / upper primary stage (class VII/VIII) in their respective State/UT. ** The should have secured atleast 40% marks in class VII/VII ** Their age should be between 15-20 years as on July 01, 2005
