About this Scholarship
The Queen Elizabeth Scholarships (QES) offer doctoral degree opportunities in Biomedical Science in partnership with the University of Calcutta.
Scholarship recipients receive various benefits, including full tuition coverage, books, research equipment, airfare, health insurance, a monthly allowance, and ground transportation expenses.
PHD positions are available under the supervision of Professor Marc Germain and Dr. Urmi Chatterji, focusing on the role of autophagy in neurodegenerative diseases and cancer.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be an Indian citizen.
- Must be under 35 years of age at the time of application.
- Must be proficient in French and/or English language.
- Must exhibit excellent academic record and research abilities, and very good communication and leadership skills.
- Cannot have applied for Canadian citizenship and must agree to return to their home country.
- Must be registered or intend to register in an eligible program on a full-time basis.
- Must agree to participate in QES community network activities and community engagement activities in Canada.
