School of Management has been one of the top notch colleges in its sector. The Management School was first rooted as the Institute of Petroleum Management, Gandhinagar (IPMG) in 2006 as an aegis of Gujarat Energy Research and Management Institute (GERMI) which was established as a trust and a society by GSPC (Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation), a Government of Gujarat Undertaking. In the following year of 2007, GERMI established Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU) and IPMG became the constituent of PDPU, and the name of the college was changed to School of Management (SPM).
