Detailed Selection Criteria

SRCAS offers admission to the UG program to candidates who have passed the Higher Secondary Course by the Government of Tamil Nadu or an equivalent examination. Similarly, candidates who hold a bachelor’s degree from Bharathiar University or any recognised university are eligible to pursue the PG programs at SRCAS, subject to the condition that the degrees are relevant to the courses- for M.Sc. in Mathematics, an aspirant must hold a B.Sc. degree in Mathematics.

SRCAS Admission FAQs

Ques. When does the admission procedure start at SRCAS every year?

Ans. Admissions in SRCAS typically start during the months of April or May, shortly after the declaration of the Class 12 results. Candidates interested in UG courses such as B.Sc, B.Com, BBA, or BCA, and PG courses such as MBA or M.Sc, can apply online through the official website or by visiting the college personally. It's advisable to apply early, particularly for courses that are in great demand, since the seats are allocated on a first-come, merit-only basis. The academic year usually commences in June or July, depending on the university calendar.

Ques. Does admission to SRCAS require an entrance exam?

Ans. Admission to most programs at SRCAS does not require an entrance exam, except for the MBA and Ph.D. The college admits students entirely based on qualifying exam scores. For MBA, SRCAS accepts TANCET scores, though graduation scores are also considered; while Ph.D. candidates need to appear for CET conducted by the affiliating university.

Ques. Can anyone apply before the announcement of my results?

Ans. Yes, SRCAS provides an opportunity for students to apply for admission even before the final results are announced, particularly for those completing their 12th board or final semester of UG. In these situations, provisional admission can be extended based on previous academic performance. When the final results are out, the students have to upload the mark sheets within the specified time to make the admission confirmation. This prevents students from missing deadlines in anticipation of board or university results.
