Nyah Hodges' good grades and compassion for others earned her a full-ride scholarship to CMU, so she knew how to find academic success. But she kept asking herself, would she find it in something she was passionate about? The answer was yes.

Neerajan Nepal came to Central Michigan University for the physics. He stayed for the nuclear astrophysics. After graduating with an undergraduate degree from Tribhuvan University in the country of Nepal, Neerajan was in search of a graduate school where he could conduct research in an academic setting.

That's when he found CMU.

"I came to Central because of the reputation of the caring, interested faculty," she said. "At other schools, I would just be a number. I like how the professors get to know you. They'll look for you in class and they're willing to help you."
