Tohoku University History

Tohoku Uni started in 1907, under the name Tohoku Imperial University. It was started by the Meiji Government as the 3rd imperial university of Japan, after Tokyo University and Kyoto Imperial University. It was the first university in Japan to accept female and foreign students.
