Thanthai Periyar Government Institute of Technology - [TPGIT]

The Central Library of TPGIT is a house of books spread over an area of 1776.32 sq.m.The library has a specialized collection of books, journals and other resources in Science,Engineering and Technology. It provides a warm and comfortable environment that encouragesstudy and intellectual growth.

The library is well equipped with tables, chairs and systematically arranged racks that housemore than 31,355 books. It provides easy access to required learning resources.

The library remains open from 10.00 AM to 5.45 PM on all working days.Special services include Book Bank facilities for SC/ST students, lending services andreference services.

The Institution has a Digital Library facility on the first floor of the Library building.More than 100 computers with internet access are available for students and staff toaccess e-journals, e-books and NPTEL video lectures.

This facility is one of the pioneering Digital Library facilities among GovernmentEngineering Colleges in Tamil Nadu.

The library provides access to more than 13,235 journals through ONOS.Major publishers include IEEE, ACM, Springer, Elsevier, Wiley, Oxford University Press,Taylor & Francis and many others.

DELNET (Developing Library Network) promotes resource sharing among member librariesthrough networking and information exchange. It provides access to Union Catalogues,Periodicals, Theses, Dissertations, CD-ROM databases and many research resources.

DELNET currently has over 6,900 member libraries across India and overseas countries.It offers Inter-Library Loan and Document Delivery Services for member institutions.
