Government Medical College, Thrissur, popularly known as GMC Thrissur, is a Government Institution established in 1982. It is located in Mulagunnathukavu (M.G. Kavu), 14 km from Thrissur, Kerala. The Institute has been approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and is affiliated with Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur. The institute has been ranked 63rd out of 522 colleges in India by mykollege.in in 2025.

GMC Thrissur has 34 departments. Among which the MBBS is its flagship course. Admission to MBBS is based on NEET UG score, followed by registration for KEAM. MBBS has 175 seats, and its Total Course Fee is INR 31,715.

Built on 250 acres of land. GMC Thrissur offers a compulsory one-year internship after completing 4.5 years of academic studies. Students receive a stipend ranging from INR 25,000 to INR 30,000 per month during this period, as per student reviews.
