University of Madras, Institute of Distance Education

Madras University Distance Education, also known as IDEUNOM, is a Public Government Institute established in 1981 and affiliated with Madras University. The college is recognised by the UGC and approved by the Distance Education Bureau (DEB). The university has an A++ accreditation rating from the NAAC, and IDEUNOM is approved by the AICTE.

According to the MyKollege Ranking 2025 report, IDEUNOM ranks 107 in the Education category, and according to the Outlook Ranking 2025 report, IDEUNOM ranks 8th in the Overall category. IDEUNOM offers admission to the B.Ed., MBA., and Diploma programs as its popular programs. IDEUNOM B.Ed.2025 fee is INR 58,150.

To be eligible for admission, a candidate must have passed 10+2 from a recognised Board. To be eligible for admission to the MBA program, candidates must have graduated from a recognised University or Board. The selection criteria for admission to the MBA will be based on the IDE Entrance Test, conducted by the IDEUNOM.
