Yes, students must stay in the XLRI hostels for at least the first year of their program. This is because XLRI thinks that the hostel experience is an essential component of the entire learning process, and it assists students in developing a strong sense of community and camaraderie. XLRI hostel rooms are single occupancy, and each room has its own bathroom .Pets are not permitted in the XLRI hostel accommodations.

If you do not have a specific preference for specialty, the XLRI HRM course is the greatest fit for your needs.

The HRM course at XLRI Jamshedpur is the best in Asia. They receive incredible placements, and the profiles they get are better than any other HR programme in India. Few students in XL HR have been placed in Consulting and General Management roles, which are in high demand at major business schools. Almost all of the top HR in India's leading firms are from XL Jamshedpur, which helps with networking and job advancement. They have a fantastic alumni network. The recent appointment of Leena Nair as Chanel's global CEO is an illustration of how their graduates (XL HR) have performed.

Currently, XLRI has two campuses, one in Jamshedpur and the second in Jhajjar. XLRI's campuses are on expansive parcels of land and have all the necessary amenities and infrastructure.

The Xavier School of Management (Delhi campus) is the expansion of the premier institute based in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. Located in Jhajjar District at Aurangpur (25 km from Gurugram), the XLRI Delhi-NCR campus was kick-started in 2017. Currently, the institute only offers admissions in Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM). However, they intend to expand their roster to include the infamous corporate and certificate programs soon. The admission is based on the entrance exam and the application is available online.

XLRI Delhi successfully concluded its 2022 placement drive with 100% placements. Students received an average salary of INR 27.58 LPA & the median salary stood at INR 25.25 LPA. The highest domestic package offered was INR 49 LPA. Most of the offers came from Sales & Marketing, ITES, E-commerce, Gaming & Online Service sectors.

XLRI Jamshedpur offers PGDM - BM and PGDM - HRM as its Flagship Programs. Admission to the program is based on XAT scores followed by a Personal Interview and/or Group Discussions. XLRI concluded its Placements for batch 2023 and recorded the Highest CTC at INR 1.1 CPA and Average CTC at INR 32.7 LPA.

When comparing XLRI Jamshedpur to the other two institutions, XLRI-Delhi and IIFT-Delhi, it is generally considered that XLRI Jamshedpur is the better option. The XLRI Delhi campus is relatively new, with its first batch starting in 2020, and the institution is working towards making it as successful as the Jamshedpur campus. However, IIFT has been able to maintain the same level of quality at its Kolkata campus as it has in Delhi and students in Kolkata have received similar placements as those in Delhi. It is hoped that the same will be true for XLRI Delhi in the future.

In terms of overall comparison, it is suggested that XLRI-Jamshedpur is better than IIFT-Delhi. However, if you are specifically comparing between XLRI-Delhi and IIFT-Delhi, it is suggested that IIFT-Delhi may be a better option. It's important to keep in mind that this order is based on personal opinion and you should conduct your own research and weigh your options before making a decision.

Expert Answer

It is highly unlikely that XLRI Delhi will be able to replicate the level of success in terms of placements that XLRI Jamshedpur has achieved. XLRI Jamshedpur has a rich history and reputation, having been established for over 70 years. The brand value that has been built up over this time cannot be replicated overnight, or even in a few years, by simply opening a new center.

Additionally, the decision to open a new campus in Delhi may be viewed as a whimsical decision made by the current XLRI administration, without fully considering the implications and potential challenges of such a move. Building a reputation and brand value takes time and effort, and cannot be achieved through shortcuts or quick fixes. It is important for XLRI Delhi to focus on building its own reputation and brand value, rather than trying to replicate the success of XLRI Jamshedpur.

This can be done by providing high-quality education, fostering a strong sense of community among students and faculty, and developing partnerships with leading companies in the industry. It is also important for XLRI Delhi to establish its own unique identity and not to be seen as a mere replica of XLRI Jamshedpur.

If I had to make a choice between the two colleges, my decision would have been to go for XLRI-NCR campus. Some strong points that favor my opinion are

  • Brand: The brand name of XLRI is very strong and not comparable to the new IIMs.
  • Campus: IIM Udaipur campus is still incomplete whereas XLRI has a permanent campus with world class facilities.
  • Pedagogy: The pedagogy is almost similar to that of the original branch of XLRI. This means most electives will be taught by renowned professors from XLRI itself. The pedagogy of IIM Udaipur is nowhere near that of XLRI.
  • Placements: The best part of placements here is that the summer and final placements of both the institutes (XLRI Main campus and NCR campus) are held together. This opens doors for top consulting and FMCG companies that do not visit the IIM Udaipur campus. A slight comparison between the placement statistics of the 2 B Schools is given below

Particulars

IIM Udaipur

XLRI NCR

Batch Size

99

Highest CTC

INR 35.96 LPA

Average CTC

I hope the above points are enough to convince you to go for IIM Udaipur.
