Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (SRIHER), formerly known as SRMC and RI, was established in 1985 and conferred the status of Deemed-to-be-University by the Government of India in 1994. It is a private, not-for-profit university in Chennai. It is recognized by the UGC, accredited by NABH, and graded ‘A++’ by NAAC. SRIHER's ranking by NIRF in the overall category was 96 out of 200 colleges in India in 2024. One of the most popular courses at SRIHER is the MBBS program. To be eligible for admission, candidates must secure a minimum of 50% marks (45% in the case of reserved categories) in 10+2 with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
