Stella Maris Chennai is an autonomous college established in 1947. It is affiliated to the University of Madras and has been accredited with an A+ grade by NAAC. According to the Collededunia Ranking 2025, Stella Maris Chennai has been ranked 32 out of 259 colleges, while the NIRF Ranking 2024 ranked the college at 30 in the colleges category. The college offers a diverse range of UG, PG, and research programs in the streams of arts, science, and commerce. Stella Maris College for Women offers B.Sc, B.Com and M.Sc as popular courses. Admission to the B.Sc and B.Com is based on the merit of the qualifying examination, that is, 10+2 exams, while for admission to the M.Sc program, candidates must have graduated in the relevant specialization.
