Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences (SIMATS) is a private deemed university in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, started in 1988 as a dental college. It became a university in 2005. SIMATS has 16 colleges offering courses in medicine, dentistry, engineering, law, management, and allied health sciences across two campuses: Poonamallee and Thandalam.

It is approved by UGC, AICTE, and NMC, with A++ grade from NAAC. The university ranks 2nd in Dental, and 23rd overall by NIRF 2025. SIMATS offers many courses like MBBS, BDS, B.Tech, B.Sc, MBA, M.Sc, and Ph.D.

SIMATS has two main campuses in Chennai. One is at Poonamallee for dental, management, and law studies. The other is at Thandalam for engineering, physiotherapy, nursing, medical, and liberal arts. The total campus area covers 181 acres with buildings up to 45 lakh square feet.

Academic facilities include 56 libraries with over 81,000 books. There are 7,035 computers and 1,157 classrooms with air conditioning and smart tools. The institute offers 655 laboratories, including ones for robotics, cybersecurity, and virtual reality. Research areas have tools like 3D printers and MRI machines.

The campus has 1,700 beds, 26 operating theatres, and 100 ICU beds for medical training. Sports facilities span 20 acres with cricket fields, football grounds, tennis courts, a 6-lane swimming pool, 5 gyms, and badminton halls. A yoga centre and medical aid are available 24 hours a day. Cultural events happen in 42 auditoriums.

SIMATS offers separate hostels for both boys and girls. Each hostel is an 8-storey building with a capacity of 500 students. Hostel facilities include 24/7 electricity, water supply, Wi-Fi, a badminton court, TV room, and AC and non-AC rooms. Rooms are deluxe with air conditioning and Wi-Fi. Each hostel has clean bathrooms, study areas, and 24-hour water and electricity. There are 125 cafeterias for food, serving different cuisines. Hostels have security guards and cameras for safety. Common rooms have TVs and indoor games. Laundry services are provided.

The total hostel fees per year for both boys and girls are INR 22,000 - INR 1.5 Lakhs. The fee details are:

Students can use cabs or auto-rickshaws for extra travel.
