CUET UG May 15th Shift 1 Paper Analysis

The General Aptitude Test (GAT) in this shift had a different pattern from previous ones. Most questions came from Quants, with fewer from reasoning and General Knowledge, and no questions from history.

The Mathematics paper was of moderate difficulty and a bit lengthy. It had 3 questions from integration, 2 from probability, and 4 from matrices.

Business Studies was comparatively easier than other exams. A few questions required matching the following.

Accountancy was moderate, and there was sufficient time in this shift. It had 3 questions from computer accounting, case study questions from shares and partnerships, and 20 questions from theory.

Economics was moderate to hard in difficulty. Questions were mainly from microeconomics and consumer equilibrium.

CUET UG May 14th Shift 2 Paper Analysis

In the GAT, questions were mixed from polity and current affairs. Questions related to books and their authors were also asked. For the reasoning sections, questions were related to missing numbers.

Biology was of moderate difficulty. Questions were asked on biotechnology, reproduction, genetics, and ecology. Questions were not direct and were a bit twisted. Out of 50, 3 questions were out of the syllabus.

Mathematics was a bit tricky and of moderate difficulty. From integration, match-the-following questions were asked along with case studies. A few questions were also asked from the matrix.

In Physics, there were around 7-8 numerical questions asked directly from the NCERT. The questions were mainly theory and application-based.

The 99th+ percentile in English is expected to be secured through 220-235 marks. Whereas the 95th+ percentile and 90th+ percentile are expected to be secured through 190-205 and 170-185 marks, respectively.

• In Physics, a 99+ percentile is expected to be secured through 210-225 marks, and a 95+ is expected to be secured through 180-195+ marks.
• In Mathematics, a score of around 220-235 is expected to secure a 99+ percentile, and a score of around 190-205 is expected to secure a 95+ percentile.

• The range of 650–699 marks can get the 99.5–99.95 percentile, reflecting very good performance with more competition.
• A score of 600–649 marks puts the candidates in the 99th–99.5th percentile, which is competitive for most universities.

In CUET UG 2026, each subject is of 250 marks. So, 750 marks in CUET is scored differently with respect to the total marks.

• 750/750 is a 99.5+% percentile, which can put the candidate in the top 0.5%, if the student takes up to 3 subjects.
• If the candidate selected 4 subjects in CUET UG then the total marks would be 1000, with 750/1000, percentile range will be 90–95%, which makes candidates eligible for good universities and Tier-2 DU colleges.
• A total of 1250 marks is calculated when the candidate takes up to 5 subjects in CUET UG, 750/1250 reflects a 70–85% percentile, representing a moderate ranking, fitting for general programs but not for the highest admissions.

• A score of above 700/800 puts a candidate in the top 1–2% of applicants, which is important for high-demand courses at DU such as B.Com (Hons), Economics, and English.
• A mark of 660–699 is in the 95–97 percentile, which is usually enough for admission in top colleges for general UG courses.
• With 550–600 marks candidate will be placed in the 85–89 percentile range, which may make it eligible for mid-level courses in sought-after universities.
• Those who score less than 450 can struggle to get admission in central universities, particularly in competitive courses.

CUET Marks vs Percentile Subject-Wise 2026

CUET UG 2026 follows a percentile ranking system whereby the raw score of candidates gets converted into the percentile based on their relative merit and normalisation.

• DU Colleges Admission: Candidates require 245+ marks in each subject to achieve a 99.9+ percentile, which is required to get into SRCC, Hindu College, and St. Stephen's.
• 90+ Percentile Range: It will be placed in the 90-94 percentile range by virtue of the score of 190-209 marks per subject and is well-suited for mid-ranked DU colleges, BHU, and AMU.
• SRCC and Delhi School of Economics cut-off trends: A 99+ percentile has 230+ marks in Business Studies, Economics, and Accountancy.
• Science Subject Competitiveness: Mathematics and Physics need more percentile cutoffs, with IITs, CMI, and ISI demanding 245+ marks, and Hansraj and BHU with 210+.
