The exam duration is 2 hours 15 minutes (10:00 AM to 12:15 PM). There is no negative marking in CG Pre BEd 2026, which means you can attempt all questions without risk.

Section-wise Exam Pattern

Section Number of Questions Maximum Marks
General Mental Ability 30 30
Teaching Aptitude 30 30
General Knowledge 20 20
General Hindi 10 10
General English 10 10
Total 100 100

Key Points About the Exam Pattern

  • Mode: Offline (pen and paper, OMR-based) at designated exam centres
  • Question Type: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) with 4 options per question
  • Marking Scheme: +1 mark for each correct answer
  • Negative Marking: None — no marks deducted for wrong or unattempted answers
  • Language: Bilingual — Hindi and English
  • Exam Centres: All 33 district headquarters of Chhattisgarh

General Mental Ability and Teaching Aptitude together carry 60 marks (60% of the total). These two sections are the most critical for a good CG Pre BEd 2026 score.

General Knowledge adds another 20 marks, making these three sections worth 80% of the total paper.

Time Management Strategy

The exam gives you 2 hours 15 minutes (135 minutes) for 100 questions. That works out to about 1 minute 21 seconds per question on average.

Since there is no negative marking, you should attempt all questions. Start with your strongest sections to secure easy marks early and build confidence for the remaining sections.

CG Pre BEd Answer Key 2026

CG Vyapam will release the CG Pre BEd 2026 provisional answer key on its official portal after the exam. Based on past years, the answer key is expected around June 13–20, 2026.

In 2025, the provisional answer key was released within 2 weeks of the May 22, 2025 exam. The final answer key was published before the July 10, 2025 result.

How to Check the CG Pre BEd 2026 Answer Key

  • Visit vyapamcg.cgstate.gov.in
  • Look for the "Answer Key" link for CG Pre BEd 2026 on the homepage or the exam’s dedicated page.
  • The answer key is usually released as a PDF with the correct answer option marked for each question.
  • Download the PDF and match your responses to calculate your estimated score.

How to Submit Objections Against the Answer Key

  • If you believe any answer in the provisional key is incorrect, you can raise an objection through the official portal.
  • Objections must be submitted online within the specified window, along with supporting reference material or textbook evidence.
  • CG Vyapam reviews all valid objections and then releases the final answer key.
  • The result is prepared solely on the basis of the final answer key — the provisional key is only for candidate reference.

Even before the official result, you can estimate your CG Pre BEd 2026 score by matching your answers with the provisional answer key. Since there is no negative marking, your score is simply the count of correct answers. This gives you an early indication of which college tier to target during counselling.

CG Pre BEd Result 2026

The CG Pre BEd 2026 result is expected in July 2026 at vyapamcg.cgstate.gov.in. In 2025, the result was declared on July 10, 2025 — approximately 7 weeks after the May 22, 2025 exam.

CG Pre BEd Cutoff 2026

CG Vyapam does not publish the CG Pre BEd 2026 cutoff as a fixed number. The cutoff emerges from the SCERT counselling process after the merit list is released.

It is the minimum score at which the last candidate in each category secures a seat in a particular college. Only around 275 seats exist in government B.Ed. colleges, so competition for those seats is far higher than for private colleges.

Factors Affecting the CG Pre BEd Cutoff

  • Total candidates: In 2025, over 1.26 lakh candidates appeared for only 14,700 seats — a ratio of about 8.6 applicants per seat. A larger candidate pool drives the effective cutoff higher.
  • Exam difficulty: A tougher paper brings scores down across the board, lowering the effective cutoff. In 2023, the topper scored 88.66; in 2025, the highest was 81, reflecting different difficulty levels.
  • Seat availability: Government college seats (~275) attract far more demand than private seats (~14,400). Government college cutoffs are substantially higher.
  • Reservation: Category-wise cutoffs are lower for SC, ST, and OBC candidates per Chhattisgarh government reservation norms.

CG Pre BEd Expected Cutoff 2026 (Category-Wise)

CategoryExpected Cutoff: Government CollegesExpected Cutoff: Private Colleges
General (UR)72–82 marks48–62 marks
OBC62–75 marks42–58 marks
SC52–68 marks36–52 marks
ST48–62 marks30–48 marks

These ranges are estimates based on 2025 trends (topper: 81/100; 1.26 lakh candidates). Actual 2026 cutoffs will be determined after the result and counselling.

Cutoff also varies by specific college. A top government college will have a higher internal cutoff than the range above.

Previous Year Topper Scores (Reference)

YearRank 1 ScoreRank 10 Score (Approx.)
202581 out of 100~78 marks
202388.66 marks85.57 marks

The gap between 2023 and 2025 topper scores (88.66 vs 81) shows that difficulty varies significantly year to year. A tougher paper in 2025 pushed the effective qualifying bar lower compared to 2023, even though the number of candidates remained large in both years.

CG Pre BEd Marks vs Rank 2026 (Expected Analysis)

After the CG Pre BEd 2026 result is declared, CG Vyapam will release the merit list with individual marks and ranks. Based on 2025 data — 1,26,808 candidates appeared and the topper scored 81 out of 100 — here is an expected marks vs rank analysis for 2026.

CG Pre BEd 2026: Expected Marks vs Rank

Marks Scored (out of 100)Expected Rank RangeAdmission Prospect
76–1001–200Top government college (strong chance)
68–75200–800Government college (competitive)
60–67800–3,000Good private college
50–593,000–10,000Private college (average tier)
40–4910,000–25,000Private college (lower tier)
Below 4025,000+Admission uncertain

This is an estimate based on 2025 data. Actual 2026 ranks depend on the total number of candidates who appeared and the final answer key. Official marks vs rank data will be available with the merit list after the result.

In 2025, roughly 14,700 seats were available for over 1.26 lakh candidates. Only about 11.6% of those who sat the exam could secure a seat. Competition for government college seats (~275) is far higher. A score of 60 or above gives a realistic chance at a decent private college in Chhattisgarh.

CG Pre BEd is conducted by CG Vyapam, the Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board (CGPEB). After the result is declared, SCERT Chhattisgarh takes over and manages counselling and seat allotment through the portal slcm.cgstate.gov.in/SCERTOnline/. The official exam portal is vyapamcg.cgstate.gov.in.

Eligibility Criteria

You must have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university with at least 50% marks (General category) or 45% marks (SC/ST/OBC/PwD). Final-year graduation candidates can apply provisionally. The minimum age is 20 years as of December 31, 2026. A Chhattisgarh domicile certificate is required for state quota benefits during counselling.

Exam Pattern

CG Pre BEd 2026 has 100 MCQ questions for 100 marks in offline OMR mode over 2 hours 15 minutes (10:00 AM to 12:15 PM). There is no negative marking. The five sections are:

  • General Mental Ability (30 marks)
  • Teaching Aptitude (30 marks)
  • General Knowledge (20 marks)
  • General Hindi (10 marks)
  • General English (10 marks)

Result Date

The CG Pre BEd 2026 result is expected in July 2026 at vyapamcg.cgstate.gov.in. In 2025, the result was declared on July 10, 2025, about 7 weeks after the May 22, 2025 exam. Based on this pattern, the 2026 result may be out around late July 2026 — roughly 6–7 weeks after today’s June 11 exam.

Answer Key Release

The CG Pre BEd 2026 provisional answer key is expected around June 13–20, 2026, at vyapamcg.cgstate.gov.in. In 2025, the answer key was released within 2 weeks of the exam. After the provisional key, there is an objection window. The final answer key is released after all objections are reviewed, and the result is based on it.

Preparation Strategy

General Mental Ability (30 Marks)

  • This section carries the highest marks along with Teaching Aptitude. Give it the most preparation time.
  • Practice analogy, classification, and series questions every day. Consistency builds both speed and accuracy.
  • Cube and dice, and figure-based questions need visual practice — sketch the figures as you solve rather than reasoning purely in your head.
  • Solving 3–4 previous year CG Pre BEd Mental Ability sections is the most effective way to understand the exact question style and difficulty.
  • Target under 60 seconds per question in this section, leaving buffer time for tougher questions elsewhere.

Teaching Aptitude (30 Marks) — Top Priority

  • Read about child development and psychology, especially for the 11–17 age group. Standard B.Ed. entrance preparation books cover this topic well.
  • Questions test values and attitudes rather than memorised facts. When you see a classroom scenario, think from a student-centred, facilitating perspective — not an authoritative one.
  • Study NEP 2020 highlights and RTE Act 2009 key provisions — they appear in both Teaching Aptitude and General Knowledge sections.
  • Modern teaching methods like activity-based learning, collaborative learning, and inclusive education are frequently asked.

General Knowledge (20 Marks)

  • Focus on Indian history from the 1857 revolt to 1947 — key events, leaders, and movements.
  • Study constitutional provisions: fundamental rights, DPSP, Preamble, and major amendments.
  • Education-related questions on national policies and commissions carry special weight in this section for B.Ed. exams specifically.
  • Read a standard GK book for state-level competitive exams and supplement with a monthly current affairs digest.

General Hindi and General English (10 Marks Each)

  • For Hindi: Revise gender, number, sandhi, samas, Tatsam-Tadbhav words, and synonyms/antonyms. These are the most frequently tested topics.
  • For English: Focus on tense forms, active/passive voice, and modals. Prefix-suffix vocabulary questions are common and quick to score.
  • Both sections carry 10 marks each. Do not over-invest time here at the cost of Mental Ability and Teaching Aptitude.
  • Practising 15–20 grammar questions daily for 2–3 weeks is sufficient for both language sections.

General Study Strategy

  • Solve the last 3–4 years’ CG Pre BEd question papers in timed conditions — this is the single most effective preparation tool available.
  • With no negative marking, you must attempt all 100 questions. Even on uncertain questions, eliminating one or two options improves your odds.
  • The paper is bilingual. If you understand a question better in one language, use that version to save time.
  • In the exam hall, start with the section you are most confident in, then move to sections that need more time.

How to Prepare Based on CG Pre BEd Exam Pattern

Your preparation strategy for CG Pre BEd 2026 should reflect the paper’s structure: 60% of marks come from just two sections. Allocating your effort accordingly gives the biggest return before the June 11 exam.

CG Pre BEd 2026 Exam Pattern

The CG Pre BEd 2026 exam has 100 questions in total. The paper is divided into 5 sections and carries 100 marks.

Section Number of Questions Marks
General Mental Ability 30 30
Teaching Aptitude 30 30
General Knowledge 20 20
General Hindi 10 10
General English 10 10
Total 100 100

All questions are single-correct MCQs. The exam pattern for 2026 is unchanged from 2025.

Exam Duration and Timing

The total exam duration is 120 minutes (2 hours). The exam timing is 10:00 AM to 12:15 PM.

The extra 15 minutes are for reading instructions and filling OMR details before the clock starts. There is no per-section time limit, so you can manage the full 120 minutes across all 5 sections as you choose.

Marking Scheme

Each correct answer carries +1 mark. Wrong answers carry 0 marks, and unattempted questions also carry 0 marks.

There is no negative marking in any section. Attempt every question to maximise your score.

Exam Mode

CG Pre BEd 2026 is an offline, OMR-based exam. You mark answers on a printed OMR sheet using a blue or black ballpoint pen.

There is no online or computer-based mode. Pencil, whitener, and erasable ink are not allowed — incorrectly marked responses may be rejected during automated OMR scanning.

Section Weightage

Both General Mental Ability and Teaching Aptitude share the highest weightage — 30 marks each. Together they account for 60% of the total paper.

Teaching Aptitude covers child psychology for the 11–17 age group, teaching methods, classroom management, the learning process, motivation, student-teacher relationships, and assessment techniques.

Exam Centres

CG Pre BEd 2026 exam centres are at the district headquarters of all 33 districts of Chhattisgarh. You select your preferred centre at the time of filling the application form.

Preparation Tips

Focus first on General Mental Ability and Teaching Aptitude. Together they contribute 60 marks out of 100. Strong performance here can secure a competitive rank even if language section scores are average.

Attempt all 100 questions on exam day. Since there is no negative marking, leaving any question blank is a guaranteed missed mark. Even an educated guess gives you a 25% chance of scoring.

Build speed for the 120-minute window. With 100 questions in 2 hours, you have roughly 72 seconds per question. Practice timed mock tests — aim to finish in 100 minutes and use the remaining 20 to revisit doubtful answers.

Include Chhattisgarh-specific GK in your preparation. The GK section regularly features questions on Chhattisgarh geography, state history, government schemes, and education policies — standard national GK books alone are not sufficient.

Practise OMR sheet discipline during mock tests. Fill bubbles completely and cleanly with a ballpoint pen. Stray marks, incomplete shading, or shading two options can void a correct answer during automated OMR scanning.

Solve previous year question papers. The CG Pre BEd exam pattern has remained stable for several years. Past papers are the most reliable guide to question difficulty, topic frequency, and how to pace yourself per section.

Reserve focused sessions for Hindi and English. Each section carries only 10 marks, but both are straightforward — scoring 8–9 out of 10 is realistic with targeted grammar and vocabulary revision.

Details Mentioned on CG Pre BEd Scorecard 2026

Category Your reservation category (General, OBC, SC, ST, EWS)

CG Pre BEd 2026 Qualifying Marks and Cutoff

The cutoff is the lowest rank or score that gets you a seat in a college. CG Vyapam releases the category-wise cutoff after the result and during counselling. The cutoff is not fixed and changes every year depending on a few things.

The CG Pre BEd cutoff depends on these factors:

CG Pre BEd Result 2026: Key Points

The CG Pre BEd result is released by CG Vyapam on the official website. The result is published as a PDF, and you can check it using your registration number and date of birth.

Your scorecard will show your total marks, category rank, and qualifying status. The result is usually announced a few weeks after the exam is conducted.

How to Check CG Pre BEd Result 2026

Follow these steps to view your result on the official portal.

  • Visit the official CG Vyapam website.
  • Click on the link for the CG Pre BEd result 2026.
  • Enter your registration number and date of birth.
  • Submit the details and your result will appear on the screen.
  • Download and print the scorecard for future reference.

Details Mentioned on the Scorecard

The scorecard contains all the important information about your performance. Check every detail carefully after downloading.

  • Candidate name and roll number
  • Category and sub-category
  • Marks obtained in each section
  • Total marks scored
  • Qualifying status
  • Rank in the merit list

CG Pre BEd Cutoff 2026

The cutoff is the minimum mark required to qualify for counselling. It varies by category and college.

Several factors decide the cutoff for a given year.

  • How many students appeared for the exam
  • How tough the question paper was
  • The total number of B.Ed seats available
  • The reservation category you belong to

Qualifying the exam and securing a seat are two different things. You may clear the qualifying mark but still miss a popular college if your rank is low. So aim for a high score, not just a passing one. The official cutoff will be released on the counselling portal once seat allotment begins.

CG Pre BEd Merit List 2026

The merit list ranks all exam participants and is released on the same day as the results. It is published as a public PDF on the website, so no login is required to view it.

Your position in the list comes from the marks you scored. The student with the highest marks gets Rank 1, and the rest follow in order. Only the students whose names appear in the merit list can join the counselling process.

If two students score equal marks, CG Vyapam uses tie-breaking rules like age to decide the rank. The merit list displays your name, roll number, category, and total marks.

CG Pre BEd Counselling 2026

Counselling is the final step before you get your B.Ed seat. It starts soon after the result and merit list come out. Only qualified students can register for it. Seats are given out based on your rank, your category, and the colleges you pick.

The counselling process works like this:

  1. Register online for counselling.
  2. Fill in your choice of colleges.
  3. Seats are allotted based on rank and preference.
  4. Report to the allotted college for verification.

You can add as many colleges as you want while filling choices, and you can change them before the final submission. Carry all your original documents to the college on the reporting day, or you may lose your seat. Keep your scorecard, admit card, mark sheets, and ID proof handy.

CG Pre BEd 2026 Seats and Colleges

Chhattisgarh has a good number of B.Ed seats spread across the state.

  • Based on recent years, there are around 14,700 seats in total.
  • Most of these are in private colleges, with a smaller share in government colleges.
  • Your scorecard is valid for one year, so you can use it to take admission during this period.

Total seats Around 14,700

What to Do If There Is an Error in Your Result?

Sometimes a scorecard may show a wrong name, category, or marks. If you spot a mistake, do not panic. Act quickly so it can be fixed before counselling.

  • Note down exactly what is wrong on your scorecard.
  • Contact CG Vyapam through the helpline or email given on the official website.
  • Keep your application number, roll number, and admit card ready as proof.
  • Report the error right away, since corrections take time.

Fixing an error before counselling saves you from trouble during document verification. A wrong category, for example, can affect your seat under reservation.
