CUET UG Result 2026: Normalisation Process
The normalisation process balances scores across different exam sessions. This is done to ensure fairness, regardless of whether a student’s specific test paper was easy or difficult.
CUET UG Result 2026: Normalisation of Scores
The CUET UG exam is held in multiple shifts, and the question paper is different for each shift. Even with efforts to keep difficulty levels similar, one paper may be tougher than another.
Candidates who get a tougher paper may score lower than those who get an easier one. To make scores fair, a process called normalisation is used to balance the marks.
The raw scores of each candidate are normalised using the Equi-percentile method. Raw scores are converted into NTA scores, which include percentile score and normalised score, in three steps:
- Convert raw scores into percentile scores.
- Pull the percentiles to the marks scale for each session to get the normalised score.
- Calculate the normalised score.
The formula to convert raw scores into percentile scores is provided in the CUET UG Official Information Bulletin.
CUET UG Result 2026: Minimum Passing Marks
A candidate must score 40% to pass the CUET UG exam. For admission to top courses in central universities like JNU, BHU, DU, and JMI, a candidate must score a minimum of 650 marks in CUET UG.
