About this Scholarship

The Department of Biotechnology is inviting proposals for young investigators up to 40 years of age.

The goal is to reduce the age at which scientists receive their first Principal investigator grant and expand opportunities for young scientists.

We invite proposals in any branch of Biotechnology related to medical, agriculture, veterinary, environment, marine, industrial or to bioresources.

The details about the format we use are the same as for routine competitive grant (website address: http://dbtindia.nic.in).

DBT will provide rapid review and approval for suitable proposals and early funding.

Post Doctoral students can be Co-PI or Co-Investigator together with young faculty/scientists holding permanent positions.

Funds will be released within eight weeks of the last date of submission of the proposal.

Budget may be appropriate to the project goals and activities.
