Child Family Health International Scholarships for 2005

Child Family Health International Child Family Health International Inform Your Friend Scholarships for 2005 Child Family Health International (CFHI) is offering eight scholarships during 2005. Scholarships are to be used toward the program fees for the following CFHI programs: Tropical Medicine, Mumbai, India; Clinical Rotation, Oaxaca, Mexico; and Pediatric Health in La Paz, Bolivia. Scholarships to these programs are available during the following months only: February, March, April, May, September, October and November of 2005. CFHI will offer two full scholarships and three $800 scholarships for programs during the Spring (Feb-May), and there will be three $800 scholarships for programs in the Fall (Sept-Nov). CFHI does not have scholarships available during the months June through August. Recipients of $800 scholarships are responsible for the remaining balance of CFHI program fees. Scholarships will be given to students who demonstrate a commitment to their communities as well as financial need and an interest in exchanging ideas and sharing experiences with people in India, Mexico or Bolivia. Click here for Complete Eligibility Criteria Recipients of CFHI scholarships will be required to pay their own airfare, and any personal expenses as outlined on the program description pages. Recipients must keep a clinical and cultural immersion journal to be submitted at the end of the program. They must take photographs while abroad, that may be used on the CFHI website, and in CFHI publications. Recipients may also be required to write an article about their experience for CFHI newsletters or other publications. They must also be willing to report their perspective on diversity in the host country with particular focus in medical and social contexts. CFHI will ask recipients to act as campus representatives for prospective CFHI participants, and may be asked to attend study abroad fairs in their local area.
