IIT Maadras-Admission to M.Tech programme under sponsored scheme without Assistanship Indian Institute Of Technology Madras, Chennai – 600 036 Applications are invited for admission to M.Tech programme under sponsored scheme without Assistanship M.Tech programme is offered in the Department of Aerospace Engg., Applied Mechanics, Chemical Engg., Civil Engg., Computer Science and Engg., Electrical Engg., Mathematics(Industrial Mathematics and Scientific Computing), Mechanical Engg., Metallurgical and Materials Engg., Ocean Engg., Physics(Solid State Technology). Eligibility : Candidates with two years professional experience as on 21.04.2005 in the sponsoring Insitution after B.E. / B.Tech degree with first class or 60% aggregate marks( in case of SC/ST candidates 55%) over the 4 years. They need not qualify in GATE. (AMIE and other Associate Membership holders should have a valid GATE Score). Candidates who have obtained their degree before 1994 have to take a written test to be conducted in the respective department of this institute. Sponsorship Scheme : Admission under sponsored scheme will be made in all the above Departments. The candidates sponsored by R & D Institutions / Industries ( recognized by the Dept of Science & Technology). Engineering Colleges (recognised by AICTE) with full pay and allowances for 24 months are only eligible. Selected candidates will have to pay the fees as given in the Admission Brochure. General : Selection will be made on the basis of marks in the B.E./B.Tech degree, experience and performance in the interview and / or written test.
