Japanese Government Scholarships – 2005 MINISTRY OF HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT Department of Secondary & Higher Education Japanese Government Scholarships – 2005 Applications are invited on plain paper from Indian nationals residing in India for the award of about 30 Scholarships for “Research Studies” offered by the Government of Japan for the year 2005. Two Scholarships are reserved for Japanese Language and Japanese Studies(One each). The subjects in which scholarships will be awarded are given below. 1. Microprocessor Application/Technology 2. Opto electronics 3. Fibre Optics 4. Quality and Reliability Engg.(As applied to varioous systems like Electricity & Power, Railways, Heavy Industry, Heavy Electronics, Electronics & Communications etc.,) 5. Robotics 6. Laser Technology 7. Ship-Building 8. Bio-technology 9. Biological Oceanography 10. Transportation & Information Systems Engineering 11. Japanese Language and Literature 12. Fisheries 13. Japanese Studies 14. Earthquake Engineering 15. Management Studies and 16. Urban Development 17. Environmental Science 18. Architecture. DURATION: One and a half years to two years. VALUE OF SCHOLARSHIP : Maintenance allowance of 1,75,000 Yen per month (subject to change), arrival allowance of 25,000 Yen, tution and examination fees exempted, part of the medical expenses in Japan will be paid. Accommodation will be arranged. PASSAGE COST:Tourist class air-ticket from India to Japan and back will be provided by the Japanese Government.
