About this Scholarship
National Brain Reasearch Centre, admissions to Ph.D. and M.Sc. (Neuroscience) 2016 Admissions to Ph.D. and M.Sc. (Neuroscience) programmes for the year 2016 Applications are invited for admissions to Ph.D. and M.Sc. (Neuroscience) programmes at National Brain Research Centre (NBRC). Candidates for the Ph.D. Programme may take one of the following screening examinations 1. Joint Graduate Entrance Examination for Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Science (JGEEBILS) conducted by NCBS/TIFR. For JGEEBILS advertisement, please check the website: https://www.ncbs.res.in/ JGEEBILS 2. Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE-2015/GATE-2016) for selected subjects only (please see the website www.nbrc.ac.in). For GATE information, see http://www.qate.iisc.emet.in 3. Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST-2016). For details of JEST-2016. please visit www.jest.org.in 4. CSIR / UGC / DBT / ICMR examination for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in the subjects – Biology / Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics (JRF : 2015-16 batch). For details of CSIR, please visit www.csirhrdg.res.in and also for other fellowships, respective websites (Herein afterwards the channel will be referred to as “External Fellowship Channel”) For M.Sc. (Neuroscience) programme, candidates will be screened through JGEEBILS only. Candidates selected for M.Sc. (Neuroscience) programme will be eligible to switch to M.Sc.-Ph.D. Integrated programme of NBRC if they fulfill the required criteria. Candidates for M.Sc. and Ph.D. will be short-listed for a two-tier interview based on their performance in the JGEEBILS (Test date : 13th December, 2015)/GATE-2015 &GATE-2016 examinations/JEST-2016*/CSIR/UGC / DBT / ICMR examination for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in the I subjects mentioned herein (Biology, Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics) and also fulfilling the eligibility criteria of NBRC for Ph.D. programme. Also their I fellowship should be valid to be activated upto 31st August, 2016 or later. * GATE/JEST/Exte
