National Design Contest For Engineering Students 2005 NDC National Design Contest For Engineering Students Website:http://www.indiandesignchallenge.com/ National Design Contest For Engineering Students National Design Contest For Engineering Students 2005 Targetted participants: The participants should be bona-fide undergraduate students of any AICTE approved engineering college currently pursuing their studies in any branch of engineering and technology. Suggested Broad Areas: The contest will encourage the participants to come out with innovative concepts and take them to a logical end of working prototypes. The central theme of the contest is to come out with solutions to the problems faced by the common people at affordable cost. Some suggestive areas are listed below, but participants can come out with any concept in related areas. Suggested Broad Areas: Mobility helping devices for the aged/handicapped. Safe drinking water through innovative and cost effective appliances/processes for rural poor. Protective wear for policemen on street duty under extreme weather conditions. Solid-state lighting devices for rural students / housewives. Renewable energy sources for rural applications. Mobile low-cost and site assembled modular shelters for disaster affected areas. Low-cost home appliances to relieve home-makers of their daily chores Household waste disposal systems The contest will be held in two phases: Phase-I: Submission of concept and detailed design drawings in a document form using appropriate CAD tools. After preliminary screening of entries, selected participants will be required to make a presentation, Participation certificate will be issued for all entrants. Sleeper-class return train fare and accommodation will be provided to the selected participants called for this presentation.
