Chitkara University offers PhD programs in line with the regulations set by the University Grants Commission for individuals pursuing careers in research, academia, industry, and policy making in India. The programs are designed to develop research skills and subject knowledge and follow UGC guidelines for doctoral education.

Our PhD program is designed to shape forward‑thinking leaders with diverse skills, encouraging a unique blend of research, mentorship, and real‑world applications to create meaningful global change and societal advancement. After enrolment, candidates are required to regularly present research progress to a Doctoral Research Committee appointed by the Vice Chancellor. A minimum of two research papers in reputed journals is a mandatory requirement for submission of the PhD thesis.
