AILET 2026 Registration Dates

AILET 2026 registration begins on August 7, 2025. The last date to register is November 10, 2025.

The AILET 2026 exam is scheduled for December 14, 2025 (Sunday) from 02:00 PM to 04:00 PM. The exam is held at the all India level. Last year, the AILET exam was held on December 8.

How to Apply

Registration is done online on the official AILET website – nationallawuniversitydelhi.in. Candidates must register before the last date. Those who fail to register within the specified time will not be eligible for the exam.

To complete the registration process, candidates need to upload scanned documents and pay the registration fee. The AILET 2026 registration fees can be paid online as well as offline.

Application Fee

The AILET 2026 registration fee is Rs 3500 for general candidates and Rs 1500 for SC/ST/PWD candidates. SC/ST category BPL candidates are exempted from paying the fee.

Eligibility Criteria

Only candidates who meet the eligibility criteria specified by NLU Delhi can apply for AILET 2026. Students appearing for their final year LLB exam or awaiting results can also apply for the AILET 2026 LLM program.

Applying for the AILET exam will not guarantee admission to NLU Delhi and its participating institutes. Candidates must also meet the prescribed eligibility criteria for AILET 2026 and qualify the entrance exam for their respective course.

AILET 2026 Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for AILET, you must have cleared the Class 12 exam with minimum 45% marks. The other eligibility criteria as per courses are:

For LLB (Hons.) Program

  • Passed the 10+2 exam with at least 45% marks (General category)
  • Completed a 10+2 or equivalent degree with a minimum of 65% marks (Foreign nationals)
  • Appearing for or awaiting results of your final 10+2 exam is permissible. However, the final marksheet must be available during AILET 2025 counselling.

For LLM Program

  • Passed a 3-year or 5-year LLB degree with a minimum of 50% marks (General category)
  • SC/ST & PwD category candidates require a minimum of 45% marks in their LLB degree.

How to Apply for the AILET 2026 Examination

You have to register first for the examination. To do so, visit the official website https://nationallawuniversitydelhi.in/. You are required to create an account by clicking on the 'Register to Apply Now' button. You have to enter some details like name, email address, DOB etc. and create a password.

After creating the account, you need to login with your login credentials. As the exam is conducted for both undergraduate and postgraduate students, you need to choose the law course you want to apply for. After choosing the course, click on the "Apply Now" button to proceed further. Next, you are required to fill in all the details like religion, category, nationality, educational details and other required details. After entering all the details, you need to upload the required documents and pay the application fee.

Eligibility Criteria for AILET 2026 Exam

The exam authority has set certain criteria for students who want to appear for the exam. You must have passed your class 12 exam with a minimum of 45% marks from a recognized university if you are a general candidate. The criteria are 40% marks in the aggregate in the class 12 exam for SC/ST/PwD candidates. If you are appearing for your class 12 exam, then also you are eligible for the exam. There is no age limit to appear for the exam.

AILET Registration Fees 2026

General candidates must pay INR 3,500 as the AILET registration fee. PWD, SC, and ST candidates pay INR 1,500. Below Poverty Line (BPL) candidates of the SC/ST category are exempted from paying the application fee.

Offline Payment for AILET Registration

Payment of the application fee is mandatory to complete the registration process. You can pay the fee online as well as offline.

You can pay the application fee using a debit card, credit card or net banking. To make the payment online, choose 'Online Payment Gateway' and fill in the card details or net banking details and proceed to pay.

Photograph and Signature Specifications for AILET Registration

Black and white photographs are not allowed in the registration form. The authority has set certain criteria for your photograph and signature. You need to follow these criteria while filling out the form, otherwise there is a chance of rejection of the application form.

  • Upload a passport-size colour photograph with a white background. The size of the image must not exceed 1MB.
  • The photograph should not have a cap or goggles, but spectacles are allowed. Your face should cover about 75% of the photograph. The photograph must clearly show your face in the preview box/page.
  • The image should be in .jpg/jpeg/png format.
  • Upload a scanned signature. The signature must be clear and without overwriting on white paper with a Black/Blue pen within a box of 6 x 3 cm (width*height). The maximum size of the image should be 1MB.
  • The scanned signature should be in .jpg/jpeg/png format.
  • Keep two identical photographs with you in reserve. These may be used for pasting on the admit card at the time of exam, counselling and admission.

What is AILET?

The All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the National Law University, Delhi (NLU Delhi) for admission to its law programs. The exam is held once a year.

Who can apply for AILET 2026?

Candidates who have cleared the Class 12 exam with minimum 45% marks can apply for AILET. There is no limit to the number of attempts in the AILET exam.

What if I make any mistake in the application form for the AILET exam?

If you made any mistake in your application form then you can correct it when the correction window is opened. The correction window will be open for three days.

If you missed the chance then you need to contact the exam authority immediately and request for correction. You have to provide a proper explanation for that but if your mistake is major then your application form can be rejected.
