AMIETE 2024 Exam Pattern Highlights
AMIETE 2024 is a national level entrance test conducted in offline pen and paper mode. The question paper is objective type multiple choice and is set in English.
The exam is held twice a year, with the first session in June and the second session in December. The exam pattern is based on grade points, and candidates must secure a minimum of 4 grade points per subject and an aggregate of 5 CGPA to pass.

AMIETE 2024 Exam Pattern in Detail
The AMIETE 2024 exam is divided into two sections with a total of 20 theory papers. Section A has 11 theory papers, and Section B has 9 theory papers.
- Each section has 2 practical papers.
- Candidates must attend seminars while working on assigned project work.
- Mandatory training on communication skills and technical writing is required for every candidate.
- This training does not add to the overall score.
- Project work can begin after completing 14 theory papers.
- A minimum of 50% marks in the theory portion is required to appear for the practical examination.
The syllabus broadly covers physics, chemistry, and mathematics at the 10+2 or higher secondary level. The syllabus is divided into compulsory and elective sections.
AMIETE 2024 Marking Scheme
AMIETE 2024 follows a grade based marking system. Candidates need a minimum of 50% marks in theory papers to start the practical lab portion.
- A minimum of 4 grade points per subject and an aggregate of 5 CGPA is required to pass.
- 4 grade points is equivalent to grade D.
- A minimum of C grade (grade point 5) is required in seminars and practical lab exams.
- Anything below D grade is considered not qualified.

Credit scores are assigned to different components of the exam. Each theory paper carries 4 credit scores.
- Project work or lab based practical papers carry 8 credit scores in total.
- Seminars carry 4 credit scores in total.
- Candidates with 9 CGPA or more pass with distinction.
- CGPA between 6.5 and 9 fetches first division.
- CGPA between 5 and 6.5 falls under second division.
- Any candidate scoring below 5 CGPA is considered failed.
AMIETE 2024 Syllabus

AMIETE 2024 Important Instructions
The following is the list of important instructions that students must keep in mind before appearing for the paper:
- Students are advised to visit the allotted examination centre at least an hour before the scheduled time.
- Those who reach the examination centre after the scheduled time will not be permitted to enter the exam venue.
- Students must carry the admit card issued to them at the examination centre.
- There will be only one question paper for each program, and students will be given an OMR sheet to fill in the responses.
- They will be provided 10 minutes to read the instructions and also check for misprinted page numbers.
- In case of any discrepancy, students need to report it to the invigilator in the examination hall.
- Candidates need to carry a Blue/Black Ink/Ball point pen to fill the OMR sheet.
- Candidates will not be permitted to exit the examination hall during the test.
