Manipur Board Class 10 Exam Pattern 2023

The Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BSEM) has released the Class 10 exam pattern for 2023 on its official website. Students can download the exam pattern in PDF format from the official website.

The Manipur Board Class 10 exam will be held from March 16 to April 3, 2023.

Subjects for Class 10

Class 10 has four compulsory subjects, with English as the compulsory language paper. The fifth subject is elective, and candidates can choose it from the available options.

Students must secure passing marks in both optional and compulsory subjects to pass the examination. Students can also elect language papers as a fifth or sixth subject from the available language options.

Marking Scheme for Class 10

The total marks for each paper shall be 100. To pass, students need to secure 33 marks out of 100 in all subjects.

An aggregate mark of 33% is also necessary to pass the exam. If a student secures 33% aggregate marks but less than 33% in a subject, he or she shall appear in the supplementary examination. The criteria are the same for compulsory and optional subjects.

Division Criteria

Students will be classified into divisions based on their marks out of 500. For students with an additional subject, the total is 600.

Marks of the Mathematics practical and Science practical shall also be considered for pass, division, and rank.

Marks Distribution for Practical and Written Exams

The Class 10 subjects that include practical education along with theory are Science and Mathematics. Separate exams are conducted for theory and practical assessments.

The Maths and Science practical marks will depend on the student's laboratory notebook, viva-voce, and experiment exercise.

The Manipur Board Class 12 exam will be held from February 23 to April 1, 2023. Students can download the Class 12 exam pattern from the official BSEM website.

Manipur Board Class 12 Exam Pattern

The Council of Higher Secondary Education plans the syllabus and conducts the examinations for classes XI and XII. The exams are held in February and March every year, and the results are released by May.

In class 12, the syllabus will be reduced in line with CBSE and NTA pattern. The syllabus for national level competitive examinations like JEE Main and NEET are likely to be reduced as candidates have lost time during the pandemic.
