Delhi University Joint Admission Test Exam Pattern
DU JAT Replaced by CUET UG 2024
DU JAT has been replaced with CUET UG 2024. The exam is conducted in hybrid mode, either on a computer (CBT) or via OMR sheet.
The CUET UG 2024 question paper is set in 13 different languages. The exam includes questions from Language, Domain Specific subjects, and General Test.
CUET UG 2024 Exam Pattern
The CUET UG 2024 exam pattern is detailed below:
- Exam Mode: Hybrid (CBT or OMR)
- Medium: 13 (Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu)
- Sections: Languages (Section 1A and 1B), Domain-Specific, General Test
- Questions Asked: Section 1A (50), Section 1B (50), Domain Specific (50), General Test (60)
- Questions to be Attempted: Section 1A (40), Section 1B (40), Domain Specific (40), General Test (50)
- Marking Scheme: +5 marks for correct answer, -1 for incorrect answer, 0 for unattempted
Section Wise Question Paper Pattern
The section-wise question distribution for CUET UG 2024 is as follows:

A candidate can attempt up to 06 subjects from all three sections. It is advised to select at least one language paper.
About 45 minutes are allocated for each language and domain-specific subject. The General Test is allocated 60 minutes.

The CUET UG 2024 marking scheme is tabulated below:

Out of 50 questions from Language and Domain Specific subjects, a candidate must obtain 40 questions. Out of the 60 questions in the General Test, a total of 50 questions must be attempted.

CUET UG 2024 Exam Day Instructions
Candidates must follow the instructions below on the exam day. Read them carefully to avoid any mistakes.
- Carry a printout of the CUET UG 2024 admit card on a mandatory basis.
- Carry one of the following ID proofs in original: Aadhar Card, Pan Card, Voter ID, Driving License, Passport, or School/College Identity Card.
- The reporting time is mentioned on the CUET UG 2024 admit card. Reach the center on or before that time.
- No one is permitted to enter the center after the gate closing time mentioned on the admit card.
- Candidates will not be allowed to leave the test center before the completion of the shift time, even if the paper is finished early.
- Cooperate with the invigilators and exam center staff during the frisking and seat allotment process.
- Avoid indulging in any unfair means practices on the exam day. If caught cheating or involved in any fraudulent acts, the candidate will be barred from the examination.
