The Goa Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) conducts the Goa 12th Board Examination. This is a state-level written exam held once a year.

Goa Board HSSC Exam Pattern 2022-23

The Goa Board HSSC Exam Pattern 2023 will be the same as the previous year. The board will conduct the 12th-class exams in two terms this year as well.

• The practical exams for core subjects like Biology, Chemistry, Geography, and other subjects will be of 30 marks, while the theory paper will carry 70 marks.
• The syllabus in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics for Class XII is curtailed following the pattern of CBSE in context to the syllabus reduction.
• The question papers in subjects with a practical section—Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, Geology, Geography and Banking—will be of 70 marks instead of 55 marks w.e.f. March 2023 HSSC Examination.
• The question paper for every subject is divided into four sections: Section A (objective type), Section B (very short answer type questions), Section C (short answer type questions) and Section D (long answer type questions).
• The pattern of the questions and marking scheme is the same for all subjects of all streams, i.e., Science, Commerce and Arts.

As per GBSHSE exam pattern, the marks division for every subject is given individually.

Goa Board HSSC Exam 2023 Schedule

As per the schedule released, Goa Board Class 12 Term 2 exams will begin on March 1, 2023. The Practical exams for class 12 will begin on February 1, 2023.

The Goa Board 12 exams will be conducted in the afternoon session from 2:30 PM onwards depending on the subject.

Goa Board HSSC Marking Scheme 2022-23

To pass the Goa Board Examinations, students must score at least 33 marks out of 100 in each subject. The aggregate marks must also be at least 33%.

For Class 12, candidates need to secure 33% marks separately in practical and written exams. In the written exam of 80 marks, a candidate needs at least 27 marks, and in practical, at least 7 marks to pass.

The division of marks in the Goa Board exam is as follows:

• 1st division: 300 or more marks in total.
• 2nd division: marks between 225 and 300.
• 3rd division: marks between 150 and 225.
• Failed: marks less than 150.
