Mizoram Board

The board sets papers in the arts, science and commerce streams at the Class 12 level and in the standard school subjects at the Class 10 level, publishes syllabi and question paper designs, and conducts the examinations at centres across the state on a published schedule. It also handles registration of schools, internal assessment and practical examinations where prescribed, evaluation, publication of results, re-checking and re-evaluation requests, compartment or supplementary examinations for candidates who do not clear a subject, and the issue of migration and other certificates. Its certificates are recognised for higher education admission across the country. Streams and subject combinations chosen at the higher secondary level determine which courses a student can later apply to, which is why the board result matters for admission even though it is not itself a selection test.
