Overview

The examination is conducted in computer based form as an objective paper of multiple choice questions taken in a single session, with the number of questions, duration and marking scheme announced by the conducting NIPER in the information brochure for each cycle. The question paper draws on the undergraduate pharmacy syllabus, covering pharmaceutics, pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacology, pharmacognosy, pharmaceutical analysis, biotechnology and pharmacy practice, along with general aptitude and reasoning; candidates applying for the management stream are also assessed on general management and business awareness as specified in the brochure. Qualified candidates take part in counselling, where seats are allotted at the participating NIPER campuses such as Mohali, Ahmedabad, Guwahati, Hajipur, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Raebareli. Some programmes require an additional interview or group discussion stage before the final offer.
