The TNEA 2026 rank list was released on July 1, 2026 at tneaonline.org. It was originally planned for June 29 but was pushed to July 1 to accommodate CBSE candidates whose board revaluation marks arrived late.

Is TNEA a Written Entrance Exam?
No. TNEA does not hold any written test. Your rank is calculated entirely from your Class 12 marks in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
The formula used is: Maths + (Physics ÷ 2) + (Chemistry ÷ 2), out of 200. Anna University normalises those marks across all boards before generating the final rank list.
Maximum Mark and Top Scorers
The maximum TNEA score is 200. This is achieved by scoring 100 in Maths (counts fully) and 100 each in Physics and Chemistry (each counted as 50).
In TNEA 2025, 141 candidates scored a perfect 200. Competition at the very top of the rank list is extremely tight; even one mark's difference can separate hundreds of candidates.
How to Check Your TNEA 2026 Rank
You need the email ID you used during TNEA 2026 registration and your account password. If you forgot the password, use the Forgot Password option on the login page to reset it via your registered mobile number or email.
Name Missing from Rank List
First, check whether your registration was fully completed — fee paid, documents uploaded, and certificate verification done at a Facilitation Centre. The Grievance Redressal window (June 30 – July 4, 2026) has now closed.

TNEA 2026 Rank Calculation Formula

Can I Change Choices After Locking in Round 1?
No. Once you lock and submit choices for a round, they cannot be changed within that round. You can revise choices when Round 2 opens — but only if you selected the upgrade option at the Round 1 allotment stage.
If you accepted Round 1 as final, you do not participate in further rounds.
What Happens if I Do Not Accept My Round 1 Seat?
You have two options: upgrade or withdraw. Choosing upgrade holds your Round 1 seat while you try for something better in Round 2 — the safer route.
Choosing to withdraw entirely releases your Round 1 seat back to the pool, and you must compete fresh in Round 2 with no guarantee of getting any seat. Upgrading is almost always the wiser choice unless you plan to exit the process.
