TGICET 2025 Exam Overview

TGICET 2025 exam dates have been announced. The exam will be held from June 08 to June 09, 2025.

Telangana State Integrated Common Entrance Test (TGICET) is a state-level entrance exam conducted by TGCHE. The exam is held to grant admission into MBA and MCA programs offered by universities in Telangana. Mahatma Gandhi University, Warangal conducts the TGICET entrance examination on behalf of TGCHE.

TGICET 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree from a recognized university to apply for the exam. Candidates can apply for full-time or distance mode courses through the TGICET 2025 exam.

It is mandatory to possess a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% marks for General category candidates. SC, ST, and BC candidates need a minimum of 45% marks. The candidate must be an Indian National.

Students appearing for the final year degree examination are also eligible to sit for TGICET 2025.

TGICET 2025 Age Criteria

  • Candidates must be at least 19 years of age to be eligible.
  • Date of birth should be up to 30th March, 2004.
  • There is no upper age limit set by the conducting body for the TGICET exam.

TGICET 2025 Domicile Criteria

  • Indian candidates satisfying the local and non-local status requirements of the Higher Education Department of Telangana State are eligible.
  • Foreign candidates are required to go through all nationality norms before applying for the exam.
  • Candidates from other nationalities must satisfy the rules of the universities concerned.

TGICET 2025 Academic Qualification

For MBA, the candidate should have passed a recognized Bachelor's Degree Examination of a minimum of three years duration, excluding oriental languages. The candidate must have at least 50% marks (45% for reserved categories) in the qualifying examination.

For MCA, the candidate should have passed a recognized Bachelor's Degree Examination of a minimum of three years duration with at least 50% marks (45% for reserved categories). Mathematics at 10+2 or graduation level is required.

  • The qualifying degree obtained by Distance Mode Program should have recognition by a joint committee of UGC, AICTE and DEC.
  • The qualifying degree obtained by Distance Mode Program or Open Distance Learning (ODL) should have recognition by the Joint Committee of UGC, AICTE and DEC/DEB as per UGC Regulations of 2013.
  • Candidates in the final year of their undergraduate degree course are also eligible to appear for TGICET 2025.
  • Qualifying marks in the TGICET Exam are 25%.
  • No minimum marks are prescribed for SC and ST candidates.

The TGICET 2025 application form can be filled from March 10, 2025. Candidates must meet the aforementioned eligibility criteria to apply.

TGICET 2025 Admission Process

Mere qualification in the TGICET 2025 does not entitle admission of the candidate to MBA or MCA courses. The candidate will additionally be required to:

  • Appear for TGICET 2025 Counselling at the notified Centres.
  • Apply in response to the admission notification issued by the authority concerned for part-time, evening, or distance mode.
  • Satisfy all the TGICET 2025 eligibility criteria for admission as stipulated by the authority concerned.

Osmania University Admission Details

Osmania University accepts TGICET 2025 marks for admission into its postgraduate programmes. Candidates must meet the specific requirements for their category.

Non-Sponsored Category

Candidates seeking admission into the MBA (Technology Management) programme must meet the following conditions:

  • Bachelors' Degree from Osmania University or a Degree recognised by the University as equivalent thereto, with an aggregate of not less than 45% marks in Part-I and Part-II put together (Non-Credit courses not included). A pass for SC and ST Candidates is sufficient.
  • The candidates seeking admission must qualify in the entrance examination TGICET examination conducted in the year of admission as per the norms prescribed by the University.

Sponsored Category (For Employees)

Candidates under the sponsored category must meet the following conditions:

  • Bachelor's Degree from Osmania University or a Degree recognised by the University as equivalent thereto, with an aggregate of not less than 45% marks in Part I and Part-II put together (Non-credit courses not included). A pass for SC & ST candidates is sufficient.
  • The candidate seeking admission must have a minimum of three years experience in Executive / Managerial /Administrative / Supervisory position in a Commercial / Industrial / Business / Government / Non-Commercial undertaking /any other organisation, after obtaining the Bachelor's Degree.
  • Candidates under sponsored category need not appear for the entrance examination (I-CET).
  • The selection of candidates under sponsored category is based on the number of marks earned by the candidate as per the criteria given below:

Seat Distribution

Osmania University has a total of 80 seats. Out of these seats, 40 are reserved for Sponsored Category (Employees Only). The remaining 40 seats are allocated for the Non-sponsored Category.

TGICET 2025 Reservation

TGICET 2025 Reservation policy includes various categories of candidates belonging to Telangana and not belonging to Telangana. The categories considered are:

  • Residence Certificate (in the case where the candidate has no institutionalized education)
  • In the case of non-local candidates residential certificate of either of the parents in Telangana for 10 years excluding the period of employment outside Telangana from Tehsildar.
  • Income Certificate issued after 01.01.2025
  • Aadhar Card
  • Caste Certificate issued by the competent authority and also PH/CAP/NCC/Sports/Minority Certificate if applicable.

For Physically Handicapped:

For Children of Armed Personnel (CAP):

  • Certificate issued by Zila Sainik Welfare Officer
  • Identity card, and Discharge book (In case of Ex-Servicemen)
  • Service Certificate (in case of Service Men) issued by Competent Authority for verification
  • Candidates whose parents are domiciled in the State of Telangana based on the Permanent Address/Home Town declared by them while joining the service and as recorded in their Service Register are alone eligible to be considered under CAP Category

Am I eligible if I have a distance mode degree?

A qualifying degree obtained through Distance Mode or Open Distance Learning (ODL) must be recognised by the Joint Committee of UGC, AICTE and DEC/DEB as per UGC Regulations of 2013.

Is there an age limit for TGICET 2025?

No, there is no maximum age limit set by the authority to appear for TGICET 2025. Your minimum age should be 19 years as on the date of notification. You should also be an Indian citizen.

I have 49% marks in graduation. Can I apply?

No, you are not eligible for TGICET 2025. The minimum aggregate marks required in bachelors is 50%.

What documents are needed for TGICET 2025 counselling?

Documents required at the time of TGICET 2025 counselling are:

  • TGICET 2025 Hall Ticket and Rank card (original and photocopy both)

Candidates with more than 40% disability are not eligible for TGICET 2025. Those who fall under the eligibility have to show a certificate issued by the District Medical Board.
