The UP BEd JEE cutoff is the minimum marks or rank needed for B.Ed admission in Uttar Pradesh. Bundelkhand University, Jhansi, sets this cutoff each year. It decides who enters the counselling process and which colleges you can choose.

There are two types of cutoffs you must understand. The qualifying cutoff is the minimum marks to appear on the state merit list. The admission cutoff is the closing marks at a specific college. It is much higher and varies by college, stream, and category.

Scoring above the qualifying cutoff does not guarantee a government college seat. You still compete with lakhs of others for limited government seats.

Previous Year Official UP BEd JEE Cutoff

The table below shows category-wise competitive closing marks for government B.Ed college admission over the last four years. Figures are based on counselling round closing data from each year. The 2026 row will be added after Round 1 allotment.

The 2022 exam was coordinated by Lucknow University. From 2023 onwards, Bundelkhand University, Jhansi, has been the coordinating body.

UP BEd JEE Cutoff: Category-Wise Closing Marks (2022–2025)

The table below shows the category-wise closing marks for UP BEd JEE from 2022 to 2025. All marks are out of 400.

Category 2025 2024 2023 2022
General 340 – 355 342 – 352 350 – 358 338 – 348
OBC 318 – 330 316 – 328 325 – 340 312 – 325
EWS 321 – 340 320 – 335 340 – 352 322 – 335
SC 213 – 218 218 – 226 225 – 232 220 – 228
ST 211 – 216 212 – 218 213 – 219 205 – 212
PwD 205 – 215 205 – 214 210 – 215 195 – 210

The General category closing marks have stayed within 338 to 358 across four years. SC category closing marks are consistently around 130 to 140 marks lower than General. This reflects the impact of 21% reservation for SC candidates.

The gap between General and SC closing marks has held steady at around 130–140 marks across all four years. This consistent gap reflects how reservation shapes category-specific competition pools year after year.

Qualifying Cutoff vs Admission Cutoff

No. The qualifying cutoff is not the same as the admission cutoff for UP BEd JEE. The qualifying cutoff (200 for General, 180 for others) lets you appear on the state merit list.

The admission cutoff is the closing marks at a specific college. For a top government B.Ed university, you typically need 340+ marks in the General category to secure a seat.

UP BEd JEE 2026 Cutoff Prediction

Based on trends, the 2026 General cutoff is expected near 340–355. About 4.23 lakh candidates appeared in 2026.

If seat intake stays unchanged, the cutoff is unlikely to drop. A change in seat availability or exam difficulty could shift it either way.

Factors Affecting UP BEd JEE Cutoff

The UP BEd JEE cutoff shifts every year. Several factors push it higher or lower. Understanding them helps you set realistic score targets.

  • Number of candidates appearing: About 4.23 lakh students appeared in 2026. A larger pool raises competition for limited government seats, pushing closing marks upward.
  • Total available seats: Government B.Ed colleges in UP have limited intake. Fewer government seats mean higher cutoffs. More private B.Ed seats are added each year, softening overall closing marks.
  • Exam difficulty level: A tougher paper lowers average scores. This can bring cutoffs down. An easier paper does the opposite and pushes marks higher.
  • Stream of study (Arts vs Science): Science stream B.Ed seats attract more candidates. This keeps Science stream closing marks higher than Arts stream marks.
  • Category-wise reservation: SC (21%), ST (2%), OBC (27%), and EWS (10%) candidates compete only within their reserved pool. This is why SC and ST closing marks are far below General.
  • Previous year trends: Bundelkhand University releases cutoffs based on merit after the result. Year-on-year data helps predict how competitive the upcoming year will be.
  • Subject-specialisation demand: B.Ed with Hindi or Social Science has more applicants. These subject seats close at higher marks than less popular specialisations.

UP BEd JEE 2026 Qualifying Cutoff

Bundelkhand University declared the UP BEd JEE 2026 qualifying cutoff on June 16, 2026. The cutoff includes minimum marks to enter the merit list and competitive marks for government B.Ed college seats.

Category Minimum Qualifying Marks (out of 400) Competitive Marks for Govt. College Admission
General 200 340 – 355
OBC 180 312 – 333
EWS 200 318 – 340
SC 180 210 – 220
ST 180 200 – 210
PwD 180 190 – 208
Ex-Serviceman 180 195 – 215

Minimum qualifying marks of 200 or 180 only allow entry into the merit list. They do not guarantee a college seat. The competitive marks column shows what is needed for a government B.Ed seat, based on 2025 counselling closing trends.

Scores between 180 and 250 likely lead to a private B.Ed college seat. Scores above 300 improve chances at government-affiliated and district-level government colleges. Scores above 340 for General category put candidates in contention for top government universities in UP.

UP BEd JEE 2026 Cutoff for Government Colleges

Government B.Ed colleges in UP are highly sought after. They offer lower fees, better infrastructure, and strong academic reputation. Seats fill up fast.

The table shows expected closing marks for prominent government B.Ed universities in UP, based on 2025 counselling closing data.

University / College General (Expected Closing Marks) OBC (Expected) SC (Expected)
BHU Varanasi (B.Ed Seats) 345 – 358 318 – 335 213 – 220
Lucknow University (State Quota B.Ed) 335 – 350 310 – 325 210 – 218
Allahabad University / Prayagraj Govt. Colleges 295 – 315 275 – 295 180 – 195
Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University 250 – 265 235 – 248 118 – 128
Govt. Raza PG College, Rampur 220 – 235 210 – 225 98 – 110

These are projected figures based on 2025 data. Official 2026 college-wise cutoffs will be released after Round 1 seat allotment. Check bujhansi.ac.in for confirmed figures. A state rank below 10,000 is the best indicator of a government college seat.

UP BEd JEE 2026 Stream-Wise Cutoff

UP BEd JEE has two main streams: Arts and Science. Paper 2 is stream-specific. Science stream always shows higher competitive scores than Arts. Science graduate numbers are large and B.Ed science seats are limited.

The table shows 2026 stream-wise declared scores and 2025 reference figures.

Stream Category 2026 Declared Score (out of 400) 2025 Reference Range
Science OBC 359.329 (Rank 1 — Vandana Singh) 355 – 358
Science General 352.661 348 – 355
Arts OBC 338.650 332 – 338
Arts General 337.326 330 – 337
Science SC To be updated 215 – 222
Arts SC To be updated 213 – 218
Arts / Science ST To be updated 211 – 216

The 2026 declared scores for General and OBC streams come from the official bujhansi.ac.in result. SC, ST, and EWS stream-wise figures will be updated when available. The Science OBC score of 359.329 is the highest of any stream-category combination in 2026.

UP BEd JEE Previous Year Cutoff Trends

Tracking the last four years shows a clear pattern in the UP BEd JEE cutoff. Competition for General and OBC government B.Ed seats has grown steadily. SC and ST cutoffs have stayed more stable due to consistent reservation quotas.

Year General OBC EWS SC ST
2025 340 – 355 318 – 330 321 – 340 213 – 218 211 – 216
2024 342 – 352 316 – 328 320 – 335 218 – 226 212 – 218
2023 350 – 358 325 – 340 340 – 352 225 – 232 213 – 219
2022 338 – 348 312 – 325 322 – 335 220 – 228 205 – 212

The General category upper band moved from 348 in 2022 to 355 in 2025 — a rise of 7 marks. The OBC upper band moved from 325 in 2022 to 330 in 2025 — a rise of 5 marks. Both categories show steady upward movement over four years.

SC closing marks moved from 220–228 in 2022 to 213–218 in 2025. The upper band dropped by about 10 marks. This may reflect a gradual increase in SC category government seats. ST closing marks stayed between 205 and 219 across all four years — the most stable of any category.

UP BEd JEE 2026 Expected Cutoff

For 2026, the expected closing marks for the General category are near 340–355. The candidate pool for 2026 was large at 4.23 lakh. Competition for limited government seats remains intense.

Is the UP BEd JEE cutoff increasing every year?

For General and OBC categories, the upper band of closing marks rose by 5–10 marks from 2022 to 2025. SC and ST cutoffs stayed stable or slightly declined. This shows how reservation protects those categories from the rising competition in the General pool.

UP BEd JEE 2026: Marks vs Rank

Marks Scored (out of 400) Expected State Rank Range College Admission Outlook
360 – 400 Top 5,000 Top government universities (BHU, Lucknow University)

Candidates with ranks between 10,000 and 30,000 can still get seats in government-affiliated B.Ed colleges in smaller UP districts. Do not restrict your choice filling to only top universities during counselling.

UP BEd JEE Result Previous Year Statistics

The number of candidates appearing for UP BEd JEE has grown sharply in recent years. In 2026, approximately 4.23 lakh candidates appeared — up from around 3.05 lakh in 2025, a jump of nearly 38% in a single year.

This growing competition means a good rank now requires outperforming an increasingly large pool of applicants.

Year Candidates Appeared (Approx.) Result Declaration (Approx.) Exam Pattern (Total Marks)
2026 ~4.23 lakh June 16, 2026 400 marks
2025 ~3.05 lakh June 2025 400 marks
2024 ~2.8 lakh June 2024 160 marks
2023 ~2.5 lakh July 2023 160 marks
2022 ~2.0 lakh July 2022 160 marks

Pre-2025 candidate figures are based on reported trends and are approximate. From 2025 onwards, the exam pattern changed from 160 marks (160 MCQs × 1 mark each) to 400 marks (200 MCQs × 2 marks each), so scores across these two eras are not directly comparable.

The table below tracks state topper scores under the current 400-mark pattern, giving a benchmark for where the very top of the merit list sits:

Year State Topper Score (out of 400)
2025 Suraj Kumar Patel (Mirzapur) 362.662
2026 Vandana Singh (as per reports) ~359

Top scores under the 400-mark pattern have stayed in the 355–365 range across both years available. This indicates the exam’s difficulty is stable year on year — answering roughly 178–182 questions correctly out of 200 is what it takes to reach the very top of the merit list. Even a handful of wrong choices separates Rank 1 from Rank 100.

UP BEd JEE 2026 Qualifying Marks

The qualifying marks for UP BEd JEE 2026 are set by Bundelkhand University. Candidates must secure the minimum qualifying marks to be considered for counselling and seat allotment.

The exact qualifying marks depend on the category of the candidate. The university publishes the category-wise qualifying marks along with the result declaration.

UP BEd JEE Cutoff

UP BEd JEE does not have a fixed cutoff score that a candidate must clear to qualify. Every candidate who appears in the exam receives a rank.

Seat allotment depends on the candidate's rank, the number of available seats, and the colleges selected during counselling. Lower-ranked candidates often secure seats in later rounds when unfilled vacancies open up.

Minimum Graduation Percentage for Counselling

Candidates must meet minimum graduation percentage requirements to be eligible for UP B.Ed counselling, regardless of their entrance exam score. The requirements vary by category.

Category Minimum Graduation Percentage Required
General / EWS 50%
OBC 45%
SC / ST 40%
PwD As per UP government norms

Graduation percentage does not affect the JEE rank, which depends solely on entrance exam performance. If the graduation percentage falls below the threshold, colleges can reject admission during document verification even with a strong rank.

Candidates should keep original marksheets ready before counselling begins.

Marking Scheme

There is no negative marking in UP BEd JEE. The scoring gives 2 marks per correct answer and 0 for any wrong or unattempted answer.

The maximum score is 400 marks. Most candidates who secure seats at sought-after colleges score above 300.

UP BEd JEE 2026 Cutoff

The UP BEd JEE cutoff is the minimum score at which the last available seat gets allotted at a college during counselling. It is not fixed before the exam and shifts every round based on the number of applicants, remaining seats, and the stream and category of the seat.

Scores needed for popular government B.Ed colleges in major cities tend to be higher. Newly established or smaller colleges often fill at much lower scores in later rounds.

The approximate stream-wise and category-wise closing score ranges from 2025 counselling are a reference point for 2026:

Stream Category Approx. Closing Score Range (2025, out of 400)
Arts General / EWS 330–345
OBC 318–332
SC 285–310
ST 270–295
Science General / EWS 340–355
OBC 328–342
SC 290–315
ST 275–300

These ranges are approximate and based on 2025 counselling trends. With about 38% more candidates appearing in 2026, competitive colleges may see slightly higher closing scores this year.

The official 2026 stream-wise cutoff will be updated as each counselling round concludes. Candidates who miss the cutoff in Round 1 can still participate in pool counselling and direct admission rounds.

UP BEd JEE 2026 Toppers

Bundelkhand University, Jhansi releases the state topper list along with the official result. Toppers are recognised stream-wise and category-wise.

Reaching the top rank in UP BEd JEE requires answering close to 178–182 out of 200 questions correctly. The exam is a 3-hour paper.

Year State Topper (Overall) Score (out of 400) Home District
2026 Vandana Singh (as per reports) ~359 To be confirmed officially
2025 Suraj Kumar Patel 362.662 Mirzapur

The 2025 topper, Suraj Kumar Patel from Mirzapur, scored 362.662 out of 400, answering roughly 181 questions correctly. The fractional score reflects tie-breaking mechanisms used when multiple candidates answer the same number of questions correctly.

What is UP BEd JEE Counselling 2026?

UP BEd JEE Counselling 2026 is the state-level, online seat-allotment process through which students who qualify the Uttar Pradesh Bachelor of Education Joint Entrance Examination gain admission to B.Ed programmes across universities and affiliated colleges in the state. Before registering for counselling, confirm you satisfy every condition below. The allotment cell verifies all criteria at the time of physical document verification at the college — a mismatch at that stage leads to cancellation of the allotted seat.

  • You must hold a valid state rank in the UP BEd JEE 2026 merit list published by Bundelkhand University. Students who appeared but did not meet the minimum qualifying score are not included in the merit list and cannot register.
  • Minimum qualifying score — General and EWS students must have scored at least 200 out of 400 marks in the UP BEd JEE 2026 entrance exam.
  • Minimum qualifying score — OBC, SC, ST, PwD, and Ex-Servicemen must have scored at least 180 out of 400 marks.
  • General and OBC students must have secured at least 50% marks in graduation (Bachelor’s degree) or post-graduation from a recognised university.
  • SC and ST students must have secured at least 45% marks in graduation or post-graduation — a five-percentage-point relaxation from the General/OBC threshold.
  • Students from B.E./B.Tech backgrounds seeking B.Ed with Science and Mathematics as teaching subjects must have at least 55% marks with a relevant Science or Mathematics specialisation.
  • You must have passed all subjects in your qualifying examination. Active backlogs at the time of document verification at the college make you ineligible for admission.
  • Your B.Ed subject combination must correspond to subjects studied in your graduation degree as per the norms of the allotted university. An unsupported combination leads to cancellation at verification.
  • You must be a domicile of Uttar Pradesh to benefit from state-quota reservation. Students from other states may apply only where the official brochure explicitly permits, and they compete in the General (unreserved) pool.
  • There is no upper age limit for B.Ed admission in Uttar Pradesh as per current state norms.
  • Students appearing in their final-year graduation examination may register provisionally; admission is confirmed only after the final mark sheet with the required minimum percentage is submitted within the college’s deadline.

Reservation of Quotas for UP BEd JEE Counselling 2026

Seat reservation in UP BEd JEE 2026 counselling follows the Uttar Pradesh Government reservation policy. Vertical reservations apply category-wise; horizontal reservations for women, PwD, ex-servicemen, and freedom fighter dependants cut across all vertical categories proportionally.

Category Reservation Type Key Condition
Unreserved (General / Open) 40% Vertical Open to all on merit; no certificate required
Other Backward Class (OBC) 27% Vertical Valid OBC non-creamy-layer (NCL) certificate from UP; must be current financial year 2025–26
Scheduled Caste (SC) 21% Vertical SC certificate issued by a UP competent authority; UP domicile required
Scheduled Tribe (ST) 2% Vertical ST certificate issued by a UP competent authority; UP domicile required
Economically Weaker Section (EWS) 10% Vertical EWS income and asset certificate for current financial year 2025–26; issued by UP tehsil/district authority
Women (within each vertical category) 20% (horizontal) Horizontal Applied proportionally across all vertical categories; no separate certificate beyond your category certificate
Persons with Disability (PwD) 5% (horizontal) Horizontal PwD certificate from a recognised Medical Board confirming at least 40% disability
Dependants of Freedom Fighters 2% (horizontal) Horizontal Certificate from the District Magistrate’s office confirming freedom fighter lineage
Ex-Servicemen and Dependants As per UP state norms (horizontal) Horizontal Ex-serviceman discharge certificate or Zila Sainik Board dependency certificate

You must upload your valid category certificate during counselling registration. The OBC non-creamy-layer certificate and EWS certificate must both be for the current financial year 2025–26 — certificates from earlier years are rejected, and you will be treated as a General category student for allotment purposes. Minority institution seats (Round 5) are governed by a separate direct-admission process managed by the institutions themselves after state rounds 1–4 conclude.

How to Apply for UP BEd JEE Counselling 2026?

Registering for counselling is mandatory — your exam rank alone does not guarantee a seat. All registration and fee payment is completed online through the Bundelkhand University counselling portal. No offline or in-person registration is accepted for any round. The registration window for Round 1 Phase 1 is open now — missing this window means waiting for Round 2 or Pool Counselling, where seat availability is lower.

Each subsequent round (Round 2, Round 3) requires fresh registration and a fresh ₹750 fee — your Round 1 registration does not carry forward automatically.

Step 1: Online Registration

Visit bujhansi.ac.in and click the UP BEd JEE 2026 Counselling link. Log in using your UP BEd JEE 2026 roll number and date of birth or the password set during the exam application. Complete the registration form with personal details, academic qualifications, contact information, and bank account details (required for any fee refund). Verify your confirmed state merit rank, category, and stream on the dashboard. Any mismatch in name, date of birth, category, or stream must be flagged to the helpdesk before you proceed to payment — corrections are not possible after fee submission.

Step 2: Counselling Fee Payment

After verifying your details, pay the non-refundable counselling registration fee of ₹750 and the advance college fee of ₹5,000 in one online transaction — total ₹5,750 — via net banking, debit card, credit card, or UPI through the integrated payment gateway. Save the payment confirmation receipt. The portal will not open choice filling until payment is confirmed on the server.

Step 3: Choice Filling

After successful payment, the choice filling form becomes available on your dashboard. You will see all participating colleges with category-wise vacancy status and subject combinations. Fill at least 15–20 choices to maximise your chances across all rounds. Arrange colleges in strict order of preference — the system allocates the best available seat from your list based on your rank. You can edit, add, or reorder choices freely before the locking deadline.

Step 4: Seat Allotment

After the choice-filling window closes, Bundelkhand University runs the allotment algorithm using your state rank, category, and locked preferences. The seat allotment result is published on the official portal on the notified date. You receive a provisional allotment letter if a seat is assigned to you. Review the allotted college carefully — you must then decide whether to confirm the seat, participate in the next round for an upgrade, or withdraw.

Step 5: Seat Confirmation and Reporting

Log in after the allotment result, confirm your seat online, and download your Provisional Allotment Confirmation Letter. Report to the allotted college within the stipulated deadline with all original documents. Failure to report by the deadline forfeits your allotted seat — it is then released to the next eligible student in the subsequent round and cannot be recovered.

How to Lock Choices for UP BEd JEE Counselling 2026 (Step-by-Step Guide)

Locking your choices is a critical and irreversible action within each round. Once the deadline passes, no further changes are permitted under any circumstances. Follow the steps below carefully during the active choice-filling window.

Step 1: Log In to the Counselling Portal

  • Go to bujhansi.ac.in and click the UP BEd JEE 2026 Counselling link in the Information Corner.
  • Enter your roll number, password, and captcha, then click Login.

Step 2: Navigate to Choice Filling

  • On your dashboard, click "Choice Filling and Locking."
  • The complete list of participating colleges and universities with category-wise vacancy status appears on screen.

Step 3: Search and Add Colleges

  • Use the search or filter options to find colleges by district, university, or subject combination.
  • Click "Add" next to each college you want in your preference list.
  • Verify that each added college offers your required subject combination and stream (Arts or Science).

Step 4: Review and Reorder Your List

  • Use drag-and-drop or up/down arrow controls to arrange colleges in true preference order — top of the list is your first choice.
  • Put government-aided and university-run colleges near the top; they carry lower annual fees and stronger statutory recognition.
  • Include choices across multiple districts to avoid going unallotted if your preferred district’s seats are exhausted by higher-ranked students.
  • Add at least 15–20 choices — a shorter list significantly increases the risk of no allotment even when seats are available within your rank range.

Step 5: Lock and Confirm

  • Review the final list one last time — order, college names, and subject combinations.
  • Click "Lock Choices" and confirm in the pop-up dialog — this action cannot be undone.
  • Download the choice-locking acknowledgment slip immediately as proof.

Once confirmed, your choices are locked and cannot be changed before the allotment result is published. If you participate in a subsequent round, you begin a fresh choice-filling exercise for that round’s available seats.

Action Allowed After Locking?
Add a new college to your list No
Remove a college from your list No
Change the order of preferences No
View your locked preference list (read-only) Yes
Download the choice-locking acknowledgment slip Yes

UP BEd JEE Counselling Documents Required 2026

Carry all documents listed below in original along with two sets of self-attested photocopies when reporting to your allotted college. The college verifies originals on the spot and retains copies. Admission is refused if any mandatory original document is missing on the reporting date — there is no grace period for submitting documents later.

  • UP BEd JEE 2026 Admit Card
  • UP BEd JEE 2026 Score Card / Rank Card (downloaded from bujhansi.ac.in)
  • Provisional Allotment Confirmation Letter (downloaded from the counselling portal after accepting the seat)
  • Class 10 (High School) mark sheet and passing certificate — serves as date-of-birth proof
  • Class 12 (Intermediate) mark sheet and passing certificate
  • Bachelor’s degree mark sheets for all years or all semesters
  • Bachelor’s degree certificate or provisional degree certificate issued by the university
  • Post-graduation mark sheets (if post-graduation was the qualifying examination)
  • Caste/category certificate — SC / ST / OBC-NCL / EWS as applicable; issued by a UP competent authority; OBC non-creamy-layer and EWS certificates must be of the current financial year 2025–26
  • Domicile certificate (Niwas Praman Patra) issued by a UP district or tehsil authority confirming UP permanent residency
  • PwD certificate from a recognised Medical Board confirming at least 40% disability (if applicable)
  • Ex-Servicemen or freedom fighter certificate from the relevant authority (if claiming horizontal reservation)
  • Character certificate from the last institution attended (not older than six months)
  • Migration certificate if your qualifying degree is from a university outside Uttar Pradesh
  • Transfer Certificate (TC) from the last institution attended
  • Gap certificate or self-declaration affidavit (if there is a gap of one or more years between your qualifying exam and the current year)
  • Aadhaar card or any Government-issued photo ID — original and one photocopy
  • Eight recent passport-size photographs matching the specifications used in the application form
  • Online fee payment receipts for the ₹750 counselling fee and ₹5,000 advance college fee
  • Bank passbook or cancelled cheque (for advance fee refund processing, if applicable)

Note: All certificates must be originals. Photocopies not attested by a Gazetted Officer or by the issuing authority are not accepted. Students who appeared in their final graduation examination in 2026 and are awaiting results must carry their provisional mark sheet or university result printout — full confirmation of admission is given only after the final mark sheet with the required minimum percentage is submitted.

How Much Money is Needed for UP BEd JEE Counselling 2026?

UP BEd JEE 2026 counselling requires two types of payments at registration for each round: a non-refundable counselling fee and a conditionally refundable advance college fee. All payments are online only through the official portal — no demand draft, cash, or offline payment is accepted. These amounts are separate from the annual B.Ed tuition fee paid directly to your allotted college.

Non-Refundable Fees

The counselling registration fee of ₹750 is non-refundable under all circumstances — whether or not a seat is allotted, and whether or not you confirm it. This fee is charged afresh for every round you register in. Participating in three rounds means you pay ₹750 × 3 = ₹2,250 in total non-refundable fees.

Round Fee Component Amount Refundable?
Round 1 — Main Counselling (Phase 1) Counselling Registration Fee ₹750 No — forfeited in all cases
Advance College Fee ₹5,000 Yes (conditions apply — see below)
Round 2 — Second Round (Phase 2) Counselling Registration Fee ₹750 No — forfeited in all cases
Advance College Fee ₹5,000 Yes (conditions apply — see below)
Round 3 — Pool Counselling Counselling Registration Fee ₹750 No — forfeited in all cases
Advance Institute Fee ₹51,250 Adjusted against college fees on joining; check official Pool Counselling notice for withdrawal/refund terms

Refundable Fees

The advance college fee (₹5,000 in Rounds 1 and 2) is refunded in the following situations:

  • You registered and paid but no seat was allotted to you in that round.
  • You were allotted a seat but did not confirm it within the confirmation deadline — the fee is returned to your registered bank account.
  • You participated in Round 1, confirmed a seat, and then received an upgrade in Round 2 — the Round 1 advance fee is adjusted against the new admission.

If you withdraw after accepting a seat, the seat acceptance fee is not fully refunded. The ₹750 counselling fee is never refunded under any circumstances. In Pool Counselling, the advance institute fee of ₹51,250 is not a penalty — it is a substantial portion of the annual programme fee, adjusted against your tuition on joining. Withdrawing after accepting a Round 3 seat, however, may mean you do not recover this amount in full — check the official Pool Counselling refund policy notification before registering. Refunds are credited to the bank account registered during counselling — ensure your account number and IFSC code are entered correctly.

UP BEd JEE Round-Wise Seat Allotment 2026

Seat allotment across five rounds progressively fills all available B.Ed seats in participating institutions. Earlier rounds offer broader seat availability, lower advance fees, and the option to upgrade. Later rounds have narrower seat pools and, in Pool Counselling, a significantly higher advance fee.

Round Name Expected 2026 Dates Who Can Participate Key Feature
Round 1 Main Counselling (Phase 1) July 1–25, 2026 (registration open; choice filling from July 2) Students with state rank 1 to 1,50,000 who register in the active window Widest seat availability; upgrade option available to Round 2; advance fee ₹5,000
Round 2 Second Round (Phase 2) ~Late July – August 2026 Students with rank 1,50,001 onwards; Round 1 allottees seeking an upgrade Vacated Round 1 seats plus Phase 2 seats; advance fee ₹5,000
Round 3 Pool Counselling ~August – September 2026 Students without a seat after Rounds 1 and 2 Higher advance institute fee (₹51,250); only colleges with unfilled vacancies participate; no upgrade option after this round
Round 4 Direct Admission ~September 2026 Students without a seat after Pool Counselling Institutions fill remaining seats through their own direct-admission process; managed individually by each college
Round 5 Direct Admission on Minority Seats ~September – October 2026 Students belonging to the relevant minority community as recognised by the Government of India Minority institutions manage this round directly after state rounds 1–4 conclude

Seat allotment in every round is based strictly on your state rank and the order of preferences you locked during choice filling. A lower rank number (higher merit) gives you first pick from available seats. After Round 1 allotment, you have three options: confirm the seat and exit the process, exercise the upgrade option for Round 2 while retaining your Round 1 seat as a fallback, or withdraw entirely. The upgrade option is not available after Round 3 — a seat accepted in Pool Counselling is a final admission decision.

Reporting to College After UP BEd JEE Seat Allotment

Downloading your seat allotment letter does not complete your admission. You must report in person to the allotted college within the deadline stated in the allotment letter. Late reporting — even by one day — results in automatic cancellation of the allotment, and the advance college fee is forfeited.

  • Download and print your Provisional Allotment Confirmation Letter from the counselling portal before visiting the college. The letter states the exact college, your allotted subject combination, and the reporting deadline.
  • Carry all original documents and self-attested photocopies as listed in the Documents Required section. Arrange them with Class 10 certificates first, followed by Class 12, graduation, and category or domicile certificates.
  • Report to the college B.Ed admission counter on arrival. Present your allotment letter, all original documents, and the counselling fee receipt. The admission cell conducts physical document verification and cross-checks your rank, category, and subject combination against the allotment record.
  • Pay the balance college fee — total annual programme fee minus the advance fee already deposited — directly to the college cashier or via the college’s online fee portal as per their schedule. Obtain an official college fee receipt.
  • Complete college registration formalities: submit photographs, fill the college’s enrolment form, and collect your provisional admission letter, student ID, or roll number from the college. This formally completes your admission to the UP B.Ed 2026–28 programme.

Do not wait until the last day to report — college admission counters process large numbers of students near deadlines. Carry extra passport-size photographs and spare photocopies of every document to avoid delays at the verification counter. For university constituent colleges, reporting is at the university campus office; for affiliated private colleges, report directly at the college campus.

Upgrade, Freeze, or Withdraw: What Should You Do?

After each round’s allotment, you face a time-bound decision: confirm the allotted seat, participate in the next round hoping for a higher-preference college, or exit the process entirely. Unlike JoSAA (which runs formal Float, Freeze, and Slide options simultaneously), UP BEd JEE counselling uses a round-by-round confirmation model — your choice at the end of each round determines whether you hold a seat or re-enter the pool.

Option What It Means Financial Impact Best For
Confirm / Accept Seat Accept the allotted college and report within the deadline; you exit the allotment process for all subsequent rounds Advance fee adjusted against annual college fees; ₹750 counselling fee non-refundable You are satisfied with the allotted college and do not want to risk losing it in the next round
Upgrade (Float to Next Round) Hold your current allotment and participate in Round 2 for a higher-preference college; if no upgrade is available, your original seat is automatically retained Current advance fee held as security; fresh ₹750 for Round 2; if no upgrade, no additional advance fee is charged You have a seat but believe a better college may open in Round 2, and you are comfortable if no upgrade materialises
Withdraw Exit the counselling process entirely; your allotted seat is released to the next eligible student; no further participation in any subsequent round is possible ₹750 non-refundable; advance fee refunded if seat was not yet confirmed; significant deduction if withdrawing after joining You have secured admission elsewhere and no longer need a UP B.Ed seat
Register for Pool Counselling (Round 3) Re-register in Round 3 to compete for remaining vacant seats if you hold no seat from Rounds 1 or 2 Fresh ₹750 counselling fee plus ₹51,250 advance institute fee; this higher amount is adjusted against your college fee on joining You received no allotment in Rounds 1 and 2 and still want a B.Ed seat in the 2026–28 cycle

If you withdraw after accepting a seat, the seat acceptance fee is not fully refunded. Plan your strategy before the Round 1 allotment result — decide in advance which tier of college you would accept, and use that as your threshold for the confirm-versus-upgrade decision. Students who neither confirm nor withdraw within the deadline are treated as having forfeited their seat, and the advance fee is not refunded. Forfeiture does not automatically carry you into the next round — you must actively re-register when Round 2 or Pool Counselling opens.

FAQs

Ques: Has UP BEd JEE 2026 counselling registration started?

Ans: Yes. UP BEd JEE 2026 Round 1 Phase 1 counselling registration opened on July 1, 2026 at bujhansi.ac.in. Choice filling for students with state rank 1 to 1,50,000 is live from July 2, 2026. If you fall in this rank band, you can register, pay the ₹5,750 fee, and begin filling college preferences right now on the portal.

Ques: Is it mandatory to register separately for each counselling round?

Ans: Yes. Each round requires a separate registration and a fresh non-refundable ₹750 fee payment. Your Round 1 registration does not carry forward to Round 2 or Pool Counselling. Missing a round’s registration window means you cannot participate in that round — even if you were registered in a previous round and received no allotment there.

Ques: Can I participate in Round 2 if I already received a seat in Round 1?

Ans: Yes, through the Upgrade option. After Round 1 allotment, you can choose to retain your Round 1 seat while the system tries to allot you a higher-preference college in Round 2. If no upgrade seat is available, your Round 1 allotment is kept automatically. You must pay the ₹750 Round 2 registration fee and re-fill preferences within the Round 2 window to exercise this option.

Ques: What is Pool Counselling and how is it different from Main Counselling?

Ans: Main Counselling (Round 1, Phase 1) and Second Round (Round 2, Phase 2) are the primary allotment rounds, with an advance fee of ₹5,000 each. Pool Counselling (Round 3) is for students who did not receive a seat in Rounds 1 or 2. Two key differences make Pool Counselling more demanding:

  • The advance institute fee rises to ₹51,250 — a significantly higher upfront commitment, adjusted against your annual college fee when you join
  • Only colleges with unfilled vacancies after Rounds 1 and 2 participate, meaning seat availability is much narrower
  • The upgrade option is not available after Round 3 — acceptance in Pool Counselling is a final admission decision

Ques: Will the ₹5,000 advance fee be refunded if I do not get a seat?

Ans: Yes. The ₹5,000 advance college fee is fully refunded if no seat is allotted to you in that round. It is also refunded if a seat is allotted but you do not confirm it within the deadline. The ₹750 counselling registration fee is non-refundable in all scenarios. Refunds are processed to the bank account you provide at registration — enter your account number and IFSC code correctly to avoid delays.

Ques: How many college choices should I fill to improve my chances?

Ans: Fill at least 15–20 choices to maximise your chances across all rounds. The allotment algorithm assigns the best available seat from your locked list based on your rank. A shorter list — say, three to five choices — significantly increases the risk of going unallotted even when seats are available within your rank range. Adding more choices carries no downside: you are not obligated to join a lower-preference college if a higher-preference one is allotted.

Ques: What happens if I miss the seat confirmation deadline?

Ans: If you neither confirm nor withdraw within the deadline, the system automatically forfeits your allotted seat. The seat is released to the next eligible student in the subsequent round and cannot be reinstated. The advance fee may also be forfeited if the seat was formally assigned to you. Technical problems must be reported to the Bundelkhand University counselling helpdesk before the window closes — disputes raised after the deadline typically are not entertained.

Ques: What documents must I carry when reporting to the allotted college?

Ans: Carry originals and self-attested photocopies of all the following when reporting to your college:

  • Provisional Allotment Confirmation Letter
  • UP BEd JEE 2026 Admit Card and Score Card
  • Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets and passing certificates
  • All graduation mark sheets and degree or provisional certificate
  • Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS) if applicable — OBC-NCL and EWS must be of financial year 2025–26
  • UP domicile certificate
  • Character certificate and Transfer Certificate from the last institution
  • Government photo ID (Aadhaar, PAN, or Voter ID)
  • Eight recent passport-size photographs
  • Fee payment receipts and bank passbook or cancelled cheque

Ques: Can students from outside Uttar Pradesh participate in UP BEd JEE 2026 counselling?

Ans: UP BEd JEE is primarily a state-level examination and most seats are allocated under the UP state quota for domicile holders. Students from other states who qualify the exam may be eligible for unreserved (open) seats only if the official information brochure permits inter-state participation. They do not benefit from any reservation category irrespective of their home-state certificate. Check the Bundelkhand University information brochure at bujhansi.ac.in for the exact rules applicable to the 2026 session before registering.

Ques: Is there an age limit for B.Ed admission through UP BEd JEE 2026 counselling?

Ans: No. As per current Uttar Pradesh government norms, there is no upper age limit for B.Ed admission. Any student who qualifies the UP BEd JEE 2026 entrance exam and meets the graduation marks threshold — at least 50% for General/OBC and at least 45% for SC/ST — is eligible to participate in counselling regardless of age.

Ques: Where is the official source for UP BEd JEE 2026 counselling dates and schedule?

Ans: The official counselling schedule — round-wise dates for registration, choice filling, allotment, and seat confirmation — is published by Bundelkhand University, Jhansi, at bujhansi.ac.in. This is the sole authoritative source. All dates marked as "expected" on this page are provisional until the official notification is released. Always verify from the official portal before making any payment or commitment.
